Hello ! Passionate and highly motivated, I offer tailor-made cello or baroque cello lessons, adapted to your organization, your personality and your desires. If you are looking for varied, supportive learning at your own pace, you are in the right place. For me, it is essential to give you the technical tools to approach the music you love with complete peace of mind. This learning process involves an analytical approach to body control and a refined awareness of movement. Drawing inspiration from the Alexander Technique and breath work, I help you find deep relaxation with the instrument. To achieve this, I create personalized exercises based on my own technical research. In addition, I utilize recognized progressive methods to solidify your foundation (Feuillard's Young Cellist Method, Valérie Aimard's CelloKids, Yampolsky, etc.). Then... it's time for the music of your dreams and sharing! Technique is simply a tool at the service of music. Alongside the fundamental work, we'll emphasize the joy of playing the repertoire of your choice: we'll work on the music you truly love. If a score doesn't exist or proves too complex, I'll create custom arrangements especially for you! But of course, music is first and foremost about sharing. I'll regularly accompany you in duets during our lessons to develop your listening skills and musicality. Indeed, playing together is very stimulating. Furthermore, I can occasionally organize meetings between students who wish to participate, giving you the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and play together in a friendly atmosphere. If you are passionate about early music, please note that I also offer lessons in Baroque cello. Whether you wish to begin or improve your skills on a historical instrument (gut strings, Baroque bow), or explore this specific repertoire with the aesthetics and phrasing of the period on your modern cello, I would be delighted to guide you in your learning. Feel free to contact me to discuss your musical preferences. I look forward to meeting you and starting this adventure together!

I am a cellist, composer, and member of the world-renowned Rastrelli Cello Quartett. With over 25 years of international stage experience – performing at venues such as the Berliner Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and the Suntory Hall Tokyo – I now share my knowledge with students worldwide through online lessons. My teaching is tailored to all levels, from beginners to advanced students preparing for professional auditions.* My approach combines decades of practical stage experience with a personalized, student-centered methodology. I place special emphasis on sound culture, bow technique, intonation, interpretation, and musical expression – elements that are often neglected in purely theoretical teaching. A typical lesson begins with focused technical exercises (scales, etudes, bowing patterns), followed by in-depth work on a piece chosen by the student. I adapt to each student's individual goals – whether you are a beginner discovering the cello, a returning player after a long break, or an advanced student preparing for an orchestral audition or conservatory entrance exam. As an active orchestral musician, I know the demands and procedures of auditions firsthand and can offer you invaluable practical insights. I also help students overcome stage fright and performance anxiety through breath control, mental practice, and visualization strategies – skills I rely on daily as a performer. My lessons take place exclusively live online via Zoom or any platform of your choice – flexible, location-independent, and with excellent audio quality. This way, you can benefit from my experience no matter where you are in the world.

I started learning the cello with absolutely no background in music, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. From the very beginning, Miriam made the process feel approachable and enjoyable. What stands out the most is her ability to adapt her teaching, she always finds a different way to explain something until it truly clicks. You can feel that her approach is shaped by years of experience and by everything she has learned from other musicians, but what makes the difference is how she passes that knowledge on. She doesn’t just teach technique, she shares her passion for music in a way that makes you want to keep going. She is patient, calm, and genuinely supportive, which makes a big difference when you’re starting from zero. I’ve really enjoyed learning the cello so far, and I’m grateful to have her guiding me through this journey.

Andrea has become a bit of a safety valve for me—often I have no idea how to teach or guide my daughter when she’s playing cello. The experience has been so helpful and makes the process run much more smoothly. Even with a language barrier (my daughter speaks neither English nor Spanish), Andrea finds ways to connect, and it’s clear how much my daughter looks up to her. When I signed my daughter up for an orchestra camp at the last minute—with only a couple of days to learn the pieces—Andrea was a lifesaver for both of us, and thanks to her, my daughter is able to go and make great memories. We’ve already had a couple of lessons with Andrea and hope to keep working with her. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
