The sources of my lessons come from the experience and knowledge I've gained not only from my music education - which consists of two instruments, two bachelor's degrees, and a master's degree -but also from being "out there" in the scene as a professional musician, from playing pit gigs, recording in the studios, touring as a band, being on festival stages, etc. Apart from being in the scene, teaching music to people of various demographics has offered me the opportunity to strengthen the curriculum and the ability to deliver the material in a receiver-friendly way. This means that who you are, what music you are interested in, and why you want to play music all matter.

When I got my first guitar on my fifteenth birthday, the appointment was that I would also take lessons immediately to become proficient in it. So I took lessons with Cor, who lived a bit further down the street, and Cor played cowboy music. He saw my eagerness and led me to his supervisor. Songs singing and playing chords, that's what it was about. This process was repeated on my eighteenth with a classical guitar; as a gift, but also take lessons. Classical lesson at Janine, there I learned to play notes and therefore also of leaves! The guitar lessons take place after school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Other times are negotiable. I really like teaching; so my enthusiasm for the instrument has an outlet! Together we try to find out what makes you like that in guitar playing; that is what we are going to work with. Fingering, percussion and plucking techniques, playing notes and tablature, chords and melodies, songs and grooves, improvisation and performance; it is all covered!

Hi, my name is Jeremy and I've played music for 19 years, having performed over 200 concerts and composed with a wide variety of groups and ensembles across England and Belgium in many genres (Funk, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Rock, Alternative, Punk and more). I have completed 3 years of intensive bass study at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and am currently playing bass plus backing-vocals and song arrangement for Kids of the Elephant and Arrubio. In these lessons, I will help you reach your goals while having fun in the process, keeping the lessons structured and tailored to your personal needs. I have 5 years of experience helping students improve as well as specialist knowledge in a multitude of styles. Some examples of what you might learn include: - Correct hand positioning & posture for best performance and faster learning. - Learning your favorite songs quickly and easily. - Breaking down rhythms & dynamics - Understanding the role of bass playing in a band. - Understanding what makes a good bassline and composing your own. - Essential music theory for bass & more advanced techniques (eg: melodic techniques, rhythmic, slap bass, etc) - How to improvise, jam and play with other musicians. Appropriate homework/exercises and recordings are provided during lessons. I also like to give advice and direction for people with musical aspirations. About the Lesson: Are you a music enthusiast that wants to start learning how to play? Are you an already good player but you want to further develop your skills?
