Logic Pro X is the most used DAW right now. It can be challenging for musicians or aspiring music producers to get the hang of it as usually the basics of audio mixing and production are not understood well, and so it gets in the way of songwriting ending up being frustrating! Whether you are using Logic Pro X, or any other DAW I can teach you the basics of recording vocals and other instruments, the essentials about understanding signal chains and how to use compressors equalisers as well as reverbs and delays, how to mix and master. I teach in my home studio in Battersea in Logic Pro X, but if you use any other DAW you are welcome to bring your own laptop so you can learn how to use your own equipment in the most efficient way! Alternatively I can teach via Zoom.

In these private lessons I will cover a broad range of topics that you'd like to learn about using Ableton Live! With over a decade in teaching experience across a broad range of topics, I'm prepared to customize lessons to make sure you get the most out of your time. To do this, we'll spend about 5-10 minutes just going through your own music background and experience (don't worry, this won't count towards lesson time) so I can get a sense of how best to progress your skills. Topics may include: beat-making, melody/harmony writing, arrangement, workflow tips, sound design, mixing and mastering, recording, live performance, sampling, and pretty much anything else you can think of to get your sounds off the ground. It all depends on the subjects taught, but I teach with different kinds of materials and ideas. Naturally, I use various media resources available in this day and age. As online teaching might suffer from latency, I tend to focus mainly on dialogue-like playing going back and forth instead of trying to play together. For actual live playing, I can provide additional audio resources for the student to learn by themselves. I want to help my students learn as effectively as they can without relying eternally on teachers to keep on learning things. I believe music is a discovery one must do for themselves as well and teachers can provide tools and support in that process.
