I propose saxophone lessons for all ages, all levels, and in all styles. I have been running private lessons for 25 years, as well as giving workshops and master classes in colleges and universities. During a lesson I encourage the student to work on: posture, breathing and the position of the mouth (embouchure), helping the projection of sound; the development of the tone; i teach the student how to phrase and play a beautiful melody; techniques of improvisation; understanding harmony; having confidence in his/her playing skills; techniques of listening and interacting with the rhythm section; learning new songs and experiencing different styles of music; Introductions to key saxophonists. Above all i encourage my students to have fun with music! Course locations: Paris 13th and neighbouring arrondissements. Languages: French, English. Xiao and Dizi Lessons: Breath, Tone, Ornamentation, and Chinese Bamboo Flute Repertoire I teach xiao and dizi with a focus on breath, tone, phrasing, ornamentation, and musical expression. The xiao and dizi are two important Chinese bamboo flutes, each with its own sound world. The dizi has a clear and bright tone, often used in traditional music, theater, folk melodies, and contemporary screen music. The xiao has a deeper and more intimate sound, well suited to slow melodies, lyrical phrasing, and meditative repertoire. My lessons are adapted to each student's background and goals. You are welcome whether you are a complete beginner, a musician from another tradition, or someone who discovered these instruments through Chinese drama, traditional music, or East Asian culture. In this class, we can work on: Basic playing technique and posture Breath, tone production, and sound control Dizi membrane pasting and adjustment Ornamentation, phrasing, and expressive details Numbered notation and/or staff notation Traditional repertoire Pieces chosen according to your interests Listening and understanding the musical style behind the instrument I teach in English and French. During class, we can work on: The basic technique and posture Breath control, sound production, and timbre control The installation and adjustment of the dizi membrane The ornamentation, phrasing, and expressive details Reading the numerical notation and/or the staff The traditional repertoire Selected pieces based on your interests Listening to and understanding the musical style of the instrument I teach in French and English. Hello dear flute fans, modern and historical :-) For me, music is not just sound, but also expression, connection, and a lifelong learning process. Teaching is fulfilling because I get to witness how music opens doors, builds self-confidence, and unleashes creativity.
