Hi! I’m Shreya, a contemporary vocal coach, singer-songwriter and performer. I hold an MA in Vocal Studies (Distinction) and a BMus in Popular Music Performance (Vocals) (Distinction) from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), London. I love helping singers understand their voices, build confidence and find a sound that feels like their own. My lessons combine practical vocal technique with song interpretation, stage performance skills and creative exploration, and are always tailored to what you want to work on. We can work on anything from improving your tone, range, pitch and vocal freedom to preparing a song for a performance or audition. I also offer songwriting lessons, if you’d like to develop your own songs and ideas. I teach contemporary styles, including pop, soul, pop-rock, and country, drawing on approaches such as Estill Voice Training, MDH Breathing Coordination, the Alexander Technique, and more to help develop the voice as a whole, connecting voice, body, and mind. Whether you’re just starting out or already have experience singing, my aim is for lessons to be supportive, curious and genuinely enjoyable while giving you practical tools you can take into your own practice.

My private vocal coaching is designed specifically for creative young adults, aspiring pop singers, and indie songwriters who want to bridge the gap between technical ability and true commercial artistry. In my lessons, we throw away rigid, traditional classical constraints. Instead, we focus heavily on modern commercial styling, vocal health, and helping you discover your completely unique sonic identity.A typical 60-minute session with me is highly practical and structured in two distinct halves: 1. Functional, genre-appropriate warm-ups that focus on breath control, vocal longevity, and mastering your mix-voice transitions. 2. Direct application to your music, where we workshop either your original songs or contemporary pop covers to refine your vocal diction, phrasing, and emotional delivery. Whether you want to nail a studio recording session, prep for a live performance, or get direct professional feedback on your songwriting, our 1-on-1 time is customized completely to your artistic goals.

If you are interested in composition, music production, songwriting and performance but feel like you need some technical or creative motivation, this is the lesson for you. If you feel discouraged or overwhelmed by the technical aspects of a creative process, this is the lesson for you. In these lessons, we will work on making the most of what we have through creative-problem solving and inspiration-hunting. You bring your ideas and we develop them together, have challenging conversations and explore alternative approaches to composition, production and songwriting to get you closer to your vision. We will also explore the many possibilities of working with a live band, ensemble or orchestra and how to encourage a healthy but focused work process. For me, lessons are not about rushing through theory or trying to sound “correct” as quickly as possible. They’re about finding what excites you, understanding the music you already love, and building the skills to play, create, and express yourself with confidence. Lessons can focus on one area or combine things naturally — for example, learning guitar while writing your own songs, or using Ableton to develop an idea into a full arrangement. My goal is to keep music curious, practical, and enjoyable, and to help each student find their own way into it.
