My name is Federico and I am a professional and Award Winning saxophone player. I worked at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles as an Assistant Professor of Jeroen Van Herzeele the jazz saxophone professor. I graduated at Conservatorio G.Martucci of Salerno (Italy) and had both Bachelor and Master with full marks with honors. During the course of my studies i also spent two academic years abroad , one at the Kask and Conservatorium of Ghent with the supervision of Bart Defoort and one at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles with John Ruocco. In 2017 i won the "Massimo Urbani International Jazz Competition" prize that saw as head of the jury Kurt Rosenwinkel & Fabrizio Bosso. I play in several Jazz bands and I have been performing all around Europe. I recorded a solo album called "Right Now" with the famous Italian label "Philology Records" & the album"Supernova" with my own band. I also recorded several albums with different bands and of many styles, from jazz, funk to pop. I toured with the famous Italian Drummer Tullio De Piscopo (Pino Daniele, Mina, Astor Piazzolla's drummer) and also had the chance to make a variety of television appearances on Italian National Television (Rai1, Rai5, Rai3). As a saxophonist studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and a graduate of the Paris Regional Conservatory, I offer saxophone lessons for beginners, more advanced players, and passionate amateurs. My goal is to help students enjoy themselves, develop their musical language and grasp the fundamentals of the instrument, all while maintaining the focus on the pleasure of playing. I also address questions of solfège, harmony and music theory, but while remaining connected to the instrument. My courses are taught in French or English, depending on preference.

I suggest you improve your saxophone and music practice by focusing on learning melody by ear and developing improvisation. As for instrumental technique, I can teach you how to place your fingers properly to develop your virtuosity, to have a tonic air column and a good embouchure to develop your sound and to work on articulation to improve your phrasing. All this is acquired little by little by playing specific exercises and solos, pieces or saxophone studies. Through learning the instrument I also suggest you develop your musical qualities which are essential to progress and have fun playing. By learning and memorizing melodies or solos by ear, you develop your ear, your sense of rhythm and your memory. Free improvisation allows you to develop your inner singing and your musical personality. Finally, working with a metronome or directly on recordings will help you improve your rhythmic ear. All this is aimed at allowing the greatest possible freedom with one's instrument as well as the development of a personal aesthetic. I started learning the saxophone at the conservatory 7 years ago. I started with jazz then curiosity pushed me to study classical saxophone for 3 years before specializing in tenor and jazz. I had many saxophone teachers (Eric Barret, Pascal Gaubert, Sylvain Rifflet, Sylvain Cathala...) and today I have a bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatory with Fabrice Alleman and Manu Hermia. I have played the saxophone in many different contexts, often in jazz in small groups or in a Big Band, in classical solo or in a quartet and also with pop groups on stage or in the studio. I have always loved passing on what I have learned, so I have been teaching beginners/amateurs for 4 years, always with the aim of developing the pleasure of playing and regularity of practice.

However I can help you perfectionate sound and timing, rhythm, vibrato, etc..., work on the accuracy of the reading and at the same time make it sound musical and human. On jazz music and/or improvisation, expand the vocabulary for improvising, the knowledge of harmony, what you can do with the material you know from different perspectives, increase precision and sense of direction when phrasing lines, learn more jazz standards, help on original compositions. And of course share all the better understanding of jazz music I learned during my years in New York City.

Hello, My name is Joris, I'm a saxophonist and conductor. As a saxophonist I obtained a Master degree with great distinction from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, won the second prize at the national Lion's European Music Competition and already played as a soloist with orchestras like the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides. I'm currently following a Master degree in Music Theory and Conducting at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. I started conducting when I was 18 and highlights of my career thus far include a selection as one of only 24 candidates for the conducting contest at the World Music Contest Kerkrade last summer. Furthermore I have had the opportunity to work with professional orchestra's like MAV Symphony in Budapest, the North Czech Philharmonic, the President's Own United States Marine Band, the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra amongst others.
