My classes are about more than helping you reach your GCSE targets (although we will assuredly reach them), it is about seeing the skills Literature gives us in our everyday lives. We will focus on your syllabus and we will focus on your exams, but I intend to give you the tools and techniques by looking not only at the texts given by your school but by really engaging with what you look at after school. From the movies you watch, and the TV you binge, to the memes you likely send every day. I believe that the easiest way to learn things is when you already love the subject. The character development, the themes, the techniques, these are things we already emotionally know and understand, the next step is to give names to those things we see all the time. I find myself using my 1st degree in Creative Writing & English Literature every day when I engage with pop culture. You will learn to appreciate more the things you already love.
