Would you like to learn piano at your own pace and in a relaxed way? Would you like to learn to play classical music or rather pop songs such as on YouTube? Or do you want to learn to accompany yourself on the piano? Don't feel like taking notes or AMC several times a week? Beginners, advanced, everyone from 6 to... years is welcome!

If you are a beginner then a good dose of motivation and the will to learn to play this instrument is all you need to get started. No prior knowledge of musical notes is required. Gradually you will learn the theory from practice through the lessons. Pupils who already have more experience are further introduced to the secrets of music.

You can choose how much you want to follow. The piano lessons can take place at a fixed time (weekly or 2 weekly). If an agreed lesson cannot take place, it is sufficient to cancel it free of charge at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to adjust my schedule if necessary. Are you unable to meet regularly or do you just want to take some lessons? No problem! Lessons during the day are also possible.

About Me

I am Joeri (° 1981) and I am an independent musician and piano teacher. As a professional musician I have more than 15 years of experience in private education.

At the age of 5 I started piano lessons and a few years later also clarinet. In secondary school went to the art humanities Muda in Ghent and afterwards obtained a master's degree in music for music theory at the conservatory in Ghent. Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory.

I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years.
I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses.
The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities.

During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account.
The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold.

For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age.

For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account.

For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child.

The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults.

For students at the college who are going to study music professionally, the subject 'music theory' is included in the curriculum. In case of shortcomings in music theory, the specific needs are updated.
