Hello, welcome to my profile! My name is Richard, nice to meet you! I'm a Dutch (Netherlands) piano teacher and concert pianist with 25 years of experience.

As a piano teacher, I have extensive experience with students of all ages and levels, as well as different music styles.
I hold a Master's degree in Music in both piano performance and as a piano teacher. For the past 25 years, I have been teaching piano lessons (both individual and group lessons) at several music schools in the Netherlands, as well as private piano lessons in various European countries and the USA.

I'm available for in-person piano lessons at your home or at my studio, but I can also teach online (via Zoom), if you prefer so. I speak fluent English, Spanish, German, Dutch, and basic Italian, so I can teach in all of these languages.

As a concert pianist, I have made numerous concert tours as a soloist and played with renown orchestras in several countries, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, UK, and United Arab Emirates.
Furthermore, I won prizes in several prestigious piano competitions, made various TV-, radio and album recordings, and attended masterclasses with world-renown pianists such as the master pianists Murray Perahia, Jacques Rouvier, Emanual Ax and Igor Roma.

My piano lessons are for students of all ages and levels, who would like to learn or improve their piano playing. Although my background is in classical repertoire, I also have experience in teaching popular and film music, among other types of music. I love all kinds of music, and I'm definitely open to teaching you how to play your favorite songs.

My lessons include learning and improving piano technique, reading sheet music (if not already mastered), playing by ear, music theory, musicality development, and fostering enjoyment in playing this beautiful instrument.

I use a combination of a few well known piano methods, and my own piano method, to achieve optimal learning outcomes. Inspiring the student and developing their natural musicality are crucial factors in this process. My lessons include learning and improving piano technique, reading sheet music (if not already mastered), playing by ear, music theory, musicality development, and fostering enjoyment in playing this beautiful instrument.

Education

I hold a Master's degree in Music with the highest distinction in both piano performance and as a piano teacher. I studied at the Berlin University of Arts (Germany) with Jacques Rouvier, and at the Amsterdam University of Arts (The Netherlands) with Jan Wijn.

For the past 25 years, I have been teaching piano lessons (both individual and group lessons) at several music schools in the Netherlands, as well as private piano lessons in various European countries and the USA.

My name is Federica and I am a Pianist from Italy. I recently completed my Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy at the “Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana” with Prof. Alessandro D'Onofrio in Lugano. I completed my Bachelor degree at Conservatory “C. Pollini” in Padua achieving the honours with Prof. Massimo De Ascaniis and afterwards, in 2020, I obtained my soloist-concert Master in Piano with Prof. Riccardo Zadra at Conservatory “A. Pedrollo ” in Vicenza.
During my studies I also attended an annual advanced course in Piano at Music Academy in Sacile with Prof. Stefania Redaelli.
I have always been interested in chamber music and in 2016/2018 I attended a post Graduation Course in Chamber Music with prof. Giampaolo Pretto at “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole”.

Music theory lessons, for children (from 9 years old) and adults.

Passionate about music theory and music theory, I would be happy to share with you my enthusiasm for music theory, so unfairly devalued, due to the sometimes brutal methods with which it is taught.

In the program :
- reading notes (treble clefs, C clefs, F clefs)
- reading rhythms (quarter notes, eighth notes, double / triple / quadruple eighth notes, triplets and other dotted notes)
- dictation of notes (training your ear takes time, but when the exercises are "tailor-made" and progressive, you progress faster)
- dictation of rhythms

Do not hesitate to tell me the context of your request (competition preparation, repurposing of instruments, exams, etc.).

The course durations offered are deliberately short to encourage maximum concentration.

It will be essential to prepare the exercises offered between classes, to progress in a way that gives you satisfaction and nourishes your motivation.

Depending on preferences we can dive into playing music with accompaniment recordings, which allows children to immerse themselves in a complete musical experience. Theory learning is included.

TEENAGERS
Are you looking for a piano teacher who will encourage and support your teenager's passion for music? Thanks to a hybrid method book for older beginners that contains pedagogically and age appropriate piano pieces, technical exercises, and supplementary activities, students are able to play hands together from the very first day, unlikely to traditional methods. In case of a former experience in playing the piano, I build on their existing knowledge and continue to expand their skills and creativity. I am also open to student's suggestions, I believe that playing a piece they enjoy is effective in keeping them motivated.

ADULTS
It's never too late to pick up a new skill. As an adult, you have unique advantages over children when it comes to learning music. You have greater focus, a better grasp of music theory, and a strong motivation to succeed.
We'll follow a hybrid method book for older beginners that contains pedagogically appropriate piano pieces, technical exercises, and supplementary activities, and allows you, unlikely to traditional methods, to play hands together from the very first day.
