Hello! My name is Paula I’m Brazilian and a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese. I also teach English and hold a TEFL qualification. With over 20 years of experience teaching students from diverse countries and cultures, I’m passionate about helping learners connect with the Portuguese and English languages and cultures in a natural, engaging way.

I hold degrees in Language and Arts as well as in Arts & Communication. Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Linguistics at the University of Zurich and learning German — so I truly understand the journey of learning a new language!

Need help with the IELTS speaking test?

I can offer one-on-one tutoring to help you learn more about the speaking part of IELTS and help you achieve the band score you need. I can help you identify areas to improve, like:
- how many and what kind of grammar mistakes you're making when speaking
- how to improve your pronunciation to be more accurate in clear
- how to hold a conversation and meet the examiner's expectations
- how to expand your vocabulary to be more appropriate for the test

I am a native English speaker and have years of experience as a university academic English lecturer (including IELTS workshops). I know university's expectations for students' speaking abilities and how the IELTS tests this.

Together we can cover the structure of the test and practice so that you gain some experience before the actual test date. I can offer you guidance for areas you need to work on and set your expectations for the test date. Just a few sessions together online can help get you on the right track to achieve the IELTS speaking band score you need!
