Dear students,
My name is Giacomo and I hold two Master of Arts in Music Performance, one in Rome and one from the "Zurcher Hochschule der Kunste" in Zurich.
During my class lessons you'll learn the wonderful art of playing the violin, an incredible instrument! I have many years of experience with teaching, I do private lessons and I have worked as a teacher for "Tiziano Rossetti International Music Academy in Lugano" for several years. As a teacher my goal is to bring out the best version of my students, using their individual strenghts, which are different for each of them. It's a pleasure for me to teach to anybody who wants even just to discover the art of playing the violin. As a pedagogue, after one month experience in a meditation retreat in Thailand, my approach involves not only focusing on the technical development of the instrument but also paying close attention to the physical and mental well-being of my students. I incorporate meditation and yoga as key elements to ensure a pleasant and optimal experience with the instrument and with oneself.

Experience / Qualifications

Born in Rome, Giacomo graduated with top marks and honors from the Conservatory of Music “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, where he studied under Professor Marco Fiorini. He furthered his studies in Switzerland with Marco Rizzi in Lugano and Rudolf Koelman in Zurich, pursuing his second Master’s degree at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Furthermore, in 2022, he began studying conducting with Professor Marc Kissoczy.
His musical education has been enriched through masterclasses, courses, and lectures with renowned teachers including Nora Chastain, Daniel Sepec, Marco Fiorini, Marco Rizzi, Alberto Mina, Paolo Piomboni, David Romano, Alberto Mina, Martin Löhr, Eckart Heiligers, Roberto Gonzalez Monjas, Christoph Whiting, Ulf Schneider.
Giacomo has been awarded prizes in several national and international competitions, including the International Kiwanis Competition, International Competition Syntonia, and the Crescendo International Prize in Florence. He served as Konzertmeister of the Youth Orchestra of Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, performing in prestigious events and venues alongside eminent conductors and musicians such as Antonio Pappano, Salvatore Accardo, Giovanni Sollima, Mario Brunello, Fabio Biondi, Sumi Jo, and 2Cellos.
He is currently member of the followings orchestras: Roma Tre Orchestra, World Youth Orchestra, ZHdK Strings, Silkroad Chamber Soloists, United Soloists, National Orchestra of Italian Conservatories, Fames Institute Orchestra, Animato Foundation Orchestra.
Giacomo maintains an active career as both soloist and chamber musician. He performs on a Petrit Kopsaj’s violin made in 2019.

I am currently a student at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. I'm in my third bachelor's degree. I have been taking harp lessons for 13 years with various renowned teachers such as Eline Groslot and Annie Lavoisier. During this period I also gained a lot of experience as a concert harpist. Including the second prize in the Concours Français de la Harpe (2017). And for 3 years I also give private lessons in harp and solfège.

These lessons focus on both (young) children who want to learn harp and adults who want to start using harp. Each student is guided at his own pace and the lessons are adapted to the wishes of each student.
Note learning lessons are also adjusted as much as possible to the student's pace.

Whether you are an adult or younger, did you know that with the proper methods, follow-up and advice, you can reach in 2 years the equivalent of what is achieved in 10 years in music school? The passion and pleasure of playing will quickly make you forget the minimum 1h30 of daily practice necessary for this beautiful and pleasant feat. This is the challenge I set myself by offering you these courses.

Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels).

My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing.

Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique.

The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible.

I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar.

Note: the practice of the classical guitar requires short nails on the left hand, and nails overflowing just beyond the tip of the finger, on the right hand, at all times. This allows an inimitable sound quality.

As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of at all levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ workshops in London and was an assistant on the Primary Arpeggione viola course and at the Springgrove music competition. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe.

Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate.
