About Me

Born into a non-musical family, I soon discovered that, however, I have an endless passion for the piano. This led me to graduate with distinction from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, after which I came to The Netherlands to pursue my dream of being a professional pianist. In The Hague, I was under the guidance of Prof. David Kuyken and pianist Stefan Petrovic.

During my studies, I also took part in many masterclasses by world-renowned pianists, such as the legendary pianist Eliso Virsaladze (Georgia), Dang Thai Son (Vietnam-Canada), Frank Braley (France), Tamás Ungár (USA).

Thanks to all the precious knowledge and experiences given by those mentors, I have been able to make my way in many performing and teaching activities, as well as local and world-ranked competitions. Besides taking part in competitions and concerts, I often play chamber music with friends, colleagues, and my students in collaborative concerts and play the role of a coach pianist for vocalists, string and piano students who have auditions and exams at music conservatories.

I give individual piano classes for various level students, mostly from beginner to upper-intermediated. Some of my students choose to pursue the professional pianist's pathway and successfully passed their entrance exams to conservatories.

In the lessons, we will be focusing on setting or developing all the required skills for the students to be able to perform independently, understand the musical language, and explore their own sound. Focusing on posture, hand coordination, rhythm, ear training, reading scores, and improvisation. So far my musical exposure in many different genres allows me to create a lesson that is adapted to the specific needs of my students. Hello,

My name is Irina and I have been working as a professional opera singer and a singing teacher for over ten years. I recently moved from London to Maastricht where I live now with my husband and our 5 year old son.

I studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the Royal Academy of Music in London. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Opera, which is the highest qualification level (Level 8) in the UK Qualifications Framework. I performed in many prestigious venues in the UK, including Royal Albert Hall, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Barbican, and St.Martin-in-the-Fields. I worked with Nelly Miricioiu, Jane Glover, Vladimir Jurowski, Robin Ticciati, Stéphane Denève, and many other renowned coaches and conductors.

I am currently part of the Limburg Education Tour project 'Weltatem', which is a collaboration between Het Geluid Maastricht (Romy Roelofsen and Gable Roelofsen) and Kirsten Schötteldreier.

Alongside my performing career, I also have been teaching singing. I am very passionate about teaching and I believe that music, whether it is listening to a concert, playing the guitar, or singing in the shower, is good for both our mental and physical well-being. It helps us to become more self-confident, find out more about how we can use our whole body as an instrument, to express and channel our feelings, and also to relax. It is never too early or late to start. Whatever your ability, aspiration, and age is, I am happy to explore with you both classical music and musical theatre. If you can learn how to use your voice properly you will be able to sing whatever and however, you want!

For children, I do not only teach singing but also beginners piano and basic music theory. It is very important to introduce music to the little ones from a very early age. And there are so many fun ways to learn. We discover and become little musicians through games, songs, dancing, movement, and acting.

Finally, I can offer Russian language coaching for both amateur and professional singers. Before pursuing my dream of becoming an opera singer, I graduated with a Master’s degree in Linguistics and Translation from Voronezh State University in my home city. As a result, throughout my singing and teaching career, I have also been asked to work as a Russian language coach and repertoire coach on many occasions.

I have always loved playing the piano since i was a little girl of 5 I was interested in how the keys worked and I taught myself to play on any piano that i could find. Hello, I'm Jungmi, a professional jazz pianist and composer. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Piano and a degree in Jazz Composition from the Maastricht Conservatory. As the leader of the Little Big Jazz Orchestra, which I founded in 2022, I explore rich emotional landscapes through expressive melodies, intricate harmonies, and unique orchestrations.

My orchestra has received recognition, including a nomination for the Maastricht Jazz Awards, the Audience Award, and performances at festivals such as Jazz Out Fest and Make It Jazz Festival in Tilburg. We were also finalists for the Edmond Hustinx Prize and received an Honorable Mention at the Laren Jazz Festival 2024. Currently, we are preparing for our debut album release.
