In my 7 years of experience tutoring individuals ranging from 4 to 60 year olds, from budding composers with an interest in music theory, to those who want to learn to perform, I have become a versatile teacher. I take care to get to know you, your areas of interest and your learner type in order to construct methods and practice plans that will be both fun and challenging, allowing you to learn most effectively. My lessons will be whatever you want to make of them, however focused or broad you want your learning to be, I will ensure you develop the understanding and technique to achieve your goals. If you don't have any specific goals in mind that's all right too! Whether your continuing your journey or starting from zero, there is always a wealth of options when learning the piano.

About Me
I began tutoring as soon as I left school and it has been something which I have carried with me throughout my entire university life, from my time at Trinity College of Music studying classical piano performance, to my Liberal Arts and Sciences degrees - a total of 7 years. I quickly developed a passion for it as I realised my natural ability for interpersonal connection and for distilling complex information into concise, accessible explanations. I have been able to ensure a consistently positive experience for students ranging from the ages of 4 to over 60, and each new student I am able to help solidifies my commitment to teaching all the more.

When it comes to teaching piano, I bring to bear my classical training to ensure rigorous technical exercises, tempered with music theory or play-by-ear practice depending on the individual students' strengths and goals. As a composer with experience in jazz, I have tools for transforming music theory knowledge into compositional and improvisational ability, should the student want to explore these avenues.

The rest of my tutoring focuses on languages, namely English and Italian. When teaching these as school subjects, I bring to bear my techniques for literary analysis and my experience in breaking down complex texts to ensure students can work effectively. When teaching them as foreign languages instead, I tailor my lessons to whatever the individual goals of the students are. I am proficient in teaching both grammar and language skills, and I have had students ranging from A1 to B1 in Italian, and A2 to C1 in English.

Learn English with me, Lorenzo, a native English speaker from London with over 6 years English teaching experience and a CELTA qualification. I have had students of ages ranging from 10 to 70, and of levels ranging from A2 to C1, as well as native speakers taking English as a school subject. I also offer specialised English classes: business English, academic English, English for diplomacy, and English for psychology.

I attended an international school speaking Italian (bi-lingual proficiency) and French (B2) alongside English. Furthermore, I studied in Freiburg, Germany, and still teach many German students through Freiburg’s Carl-Schurz Haus German-American Institute. My familiarity with these languages allows me to offer explanations and translations tailored to the needs of my students.

Hello! I am an English saxophonist, guitarist, pianist and composer / music theorist, currently based in Maastricht, NL. I've been playing saxophone, guitar and piano for 15 years and after building a life around music and creative expression, it's my passion to share that with anyone eager to learn; at any level. I believe music can bring so much value to our lives, it can excite us and move us, give us a sense of purpose and identity and ultimately enrich us in ways we would never otherwise grow.

Are you a musician already, but you haven’t opened the door to music theory and don’t know where to start? Perhaps you are preparing for upcoming exams, or you simply want to spark your curiosity further with the mechanics of music? At any level, I’m here to teach music theory for jazz and contemporary music.
I want to show my students the connection between music on a theoretical level and their instruments. And how understanding the building blocks of music can lead to new creative avenues through which to express themselves. It can be a struggle to know where to get started both technically and theoretically; understanding your instrument and what you are playing can help to facilitate real musical growth.
As a conservatory student, having followed advanced jazz music theory. I can help at any level to further your knowledge and understanding of music. Theory is such a powerful tool for composition, songwriting and improvisation, let’s learn together in an environment that puts you and your instrument first.
I offer classes from beginner musicians to conservatory / music school entrance exams and everything in between & beyond.
If you are interested, feel free to get in touch!
Looking forward to meeting you!
