My name is Martine, I have been a jazz singer and voice teacher for 25 years. I offer private or group lessons, for teenagers and adults, tailor-made, in a friendly atmosphere! For the technical part (voice pose, abdominal breathing) a little rigor is required, but from the first class, you sing the song of your choice! No music theory required!

If you are a beginner: get to know your voice and let yourself be surprised! Singing will make you express emotions, strengthen your self-confidence, and let's never forget that singing is above all a pleasure! A singing lesson energizes and calms at the same time. When we sing, we feel good!

If you already have a technical background, come and deepen your interpretation, your posture, your presence and your stage confidence, prepare an audition, a concert, a studio, ...

If your voice "lets go", you lose potential, do not hesitate to come and do a vocal assessment, I work with voice professionals!

Classes are given every day of the week, afternoons and evenings. The individual lesson lasts 1 hour. The frequency is to be fixed according to your budget and your availability. Group lessons are organized on request. I also give singing lessons at home, in the south of Brussels.

About Me

I have been a singer for almost 30 years and a "natural voice" singing teacher for 25 years. I chose teaching because I like the sharing of knowledge, the pedagogy. I love to see and feel my students flourish in their art and their personality, their confidence and their self-esteem. Singing is magical, and allows us to express a range of emotions, often unspoken in our speeded daily life ...

Education

I was trained in private lessons by technical teachers, a jazz teacher and an opera singer. For the health of the vocal cords and a deepening of the anatomy, I have been trained and collaborate with phoniatrists (ENT specialist voice), speech therapists and osteopaths. I also have a lyric background but do not teach it.

I have almost 30 years of experience as a jazz singer, 25 years of experience as a singing teacher, vocal coach in the studio and preparation for recording, studio, entrance exams for schools, Conservatory or audition.

Singing lessons :
Graduate of the Brussels Conservatory in jazz singing (Master), I sing professionally and am pedagogue for 20 years now. I offer private lessons and semi-singing in Watermael-Boitsfort (corner of the broom).

INDIVIDUAL LESSON OF 45 OR 60 MINUTES
Classes are directed to the desires and demands of the student.
Here is what I propose ...

Voice technique: through vocalizations and other fun exercises, learn to use your body and your voice in an effective and healthy way.

Directory (or not): chosen by the student and the teacher. My preference goes to jazz and all its branches and roots (bossa, brazilian, blues, gospel, polyphony, ...) because it's for me the best training but I'm open and I sing myself (almost) every other styles ;-)

Improvisation: the best for the end :-) listening exercise, creativity, self-expression, voice and musicality. Through very progressive and clear exercises, we will explore (if the pupil desires) vocal improvisation.

Professional singer holding a Master Degree in vocal jazz and a Post-Master Teaching Degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels gives private singing lessons open to all ages and all levels.

I am a trained singer- songwriter & professional musician with a BA (hons) in Composition. Originally from london I moved to Brussels to do my masters degree. I am a trained singing with a level of grade 8, I have also spent the last 6 years touring as a front women and also a backing singing with various artists around europe, including 1 top 10 artist. I understand that although it's great to have a strong technique it's also about letting go and having confidence in your ability so you can relax in the moment.
