Although I am a trained philosophy teacher for secondary students, I have shifted my focus to tutoring English and Portuguese language learners. My goal is to provide dynamic classes that allow students to use functional language in real-world ways, but each class can be tailor-made to the individual's needs. I use Cambridge materials for my English classes, in addition to real-world texts and videos, to train students on grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. Student-centered classes are the most beneficial in my opinion, so I focus on having the student speak while also guiding them with the correct language depending on their problem areas.

I am a native English speaker from Ireland currently studying MSc Psychology at Leiden University. I received a grade A1 in my Leaving Certificate English studies and my BA degree includes a specialisation in English. I also have experience teaching English as a second language in both Spain and Zambia. I am available for lessons after lectures and during weekends. The lessons can be held in a location that suits you or via Skype, etc. if necessary. These lessons can be for students of any level who want extra support in English acquisition or improvement. As the student you can choose which areas you would most like to focus on and I can structure the lessons with this in mind. This can include areas such as grammar, conversation, vocabulary, and much more. We can discuss together how best I can help you to improve your language skills based on your needs, for example through help with homework or setting additional homework. If the hours shown do not suit you let me know as my lecture hours vary slightly each week and I may be able to fit you in. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to message me.

Tired of your italian friends mocking you for your "bad" cooking skills? Bored of using the same old italian phrases while on vacation? Want to give your second-generation kids the chance to fluently communicate with their grandparents? This class is for you, and for whoever fell in love with italian culture and its chaotic people. We will address all language skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading) in a relaxed one-to-one environment, while alternating the necessary grammar and vocabulary learning with language games, music and interactive discussions on news. My class will be held in Italian and English, and it will be tailored to the needs of the student. Assignments will be given after every class.

An enthusiastic and motivated individual who is committed to work hard using her excellent communication skills and determination as well as initiative, that will allow her to prosper further in order to succeed. I aim to work hard and overcome any obstacles. This class is designed for students who would like to refine their English skills as a second language and their basic math skills. We will work through exercises and allow time for understanding before attempting them independently.
