I now have more than 10 students online from any level (beginners to advanced), any corner of the world and any age (from 6 to 72 years old)
I am an enthusiastic, fun and cool but also serious and professional. I give importance to my relationship with the student since I believe that having a good connection with the teacher helps the student to feel more comfortable and ask any concern.

About Me

Hello,
I am Mathieu, 28, French and moved in February to Utrecht for good. I have been working as a French teacher online since August 2018 and have now students from any level, any age (children too) and any place in the world. I keep traveling through them since I came back from a two years world trip in July 2018.
I hold a Master in Marketing and worked for three years for Renault before traveling.
At the moment, I also work at NIKE in Hilversum every saturday.

I love teaching because I really think that speaking several languages opens up the horizons and overcome barriers.
I speak French, English, Spanish and Portuguese and I am on my way of learning Dutch.

I create a learning experience (content and pace) adapted to your needs: speaking fluently, DELF/ DALF test preparation, conversations to help with travel or relocation or simply the pleasure of talking about subjects you are interested in. We can have our lessons in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying various aspects of learning a language. It's not just about memorizing complex conjugations!

I work with a variety of online resources, all of which is shared with you after the lesson. For structure and to evaluate progress, I also work with certain books depending on the level and the requirement. Unless you wish to focus on specific skills, I try to include speaking, listening and reading during the session, while writing exercises are given as homework. Grammar points are handled as and when they come up.

Bonjour!
My name is Théo and I am a French native, I am 24 years old and I arrived in Utrecht in September. I graduated from a two years masters degree in History of art and Museology in 2020. I had the opportunity to teach these subjects to bachelor students for a year, so I have some experience in teaching at a university level. I have also given French lessons to a little German boy who lived in my neighbourhood, from his primary to middle school years. I believe I have sufficient experience experince in teaching French at different levels and would love to conitnue giving private lessons. In order to make the lessons more original and dynamic, I could also include art historical references to the classes. I am enthusiastic, patient and professional. I teach in a small setting at home or online, which used to be in large groups at, for example, popular universities or course projects. Experience shows that your own input in such a large group often gets overlooked. What I really enjoy now is to work with the student (s) on expanding vocabulary step by step, improving general understanding of the language with the ultimate goal of becoming more familiar with it so that he or her can speak getting easier.
All this is done using. a lesson folder and audiovisual material or current affairs articles. A relaxed atmosphere is the key to success!

In my class, I offer my students a French course with a real French speaker. I also happen to study French teaching at the Hogeschool Utrecht and used to teach to my classmates back in High School. In my class, the students choose wether he/she/they wants to talk (E.G basic conversation to improve their understanding of the frenchspeaking ), study (E.G course+homework+test) or if they just want to have fun while studying (E.G playing french games or watching, listening to french music/films).

Singing in French is no easy task, but as a native speaker and opera singer, I can help you!

We work on pronunciation together, first working on spoken text: getting acquainted with the French sounds and accent and working on how to make sure it sounds French even to a native French! When that's working well, we apply it to the singing.
