About Me

My name is Laia I live in Barcelona but I am currently living in Utrecht.

I am a student of Business Administration and Management at the University of Barcelona, currently an Erasmus exchange in Utrecht.

One of my passions is languages, which is why I speak more than 4 languages of which I have been a private teacher of two of them: Spanish and French.

Support can also be provided in learning organizational skills, research, and mini projects for older children. I am available to help with studying, homework, or school projects. For online learning, I use a variety of platforms, websites, educational games, and e-books to reach the learning goals of my students. Additional homework can be provided if requested.

In my classes I like to take a conversational approach, but this depends entirely on the needs of my students. I use different books with different didactic material, mostly Aula Plus and Bitacora. I also try to practice all skills: talking, writing and listening. If the student wants it, I leave homework, which I correct during the week before the next lesson, so that we can make the most of the lesson time. I like using the CLT methond during my lessons. I have been teaching in a Gymnasium as an intern for the past 3 years and this method is the one that works best. I really like practicing the language in useful ways that the students can later on use in their daily lives.
I would provide the material for the lessons (no need for a book). I would create or print material when needed. I would also bring my laptop if something needs to be shown. It is handy for the student to have a notebook to keep track of all the work during the lessons.
