About Me
I'm Luca, Italian drummer who moved to the Netherlands years ago to meet new people and expand my musical experiences. I studied in Rome at Saint Louise College of Music and graduated at HKU Utrecht Conservatorium in Jazz & Pop drums.

I'm exeperienced as a session player for different professional musicians in the Netherlands and played abroad in multiple festivals in Spain, Poland and Italy. What I like the most of being a musician is to make people happy and to give them a great time. Music makes people feel good, you can see it when they dance and swing their head. Music is a good load of positive energy that all of us need to keep living. Music is connection, fun and joy, music is sharing the moment, with friends and strangers.

My teaching style is based on a musical approach, I always like to first start with the music and then let my students understand what is done in a certain way and why it makes you feel so good. I like my students to understand the feeling of music and rhythm, I don't like to follow strict rules but at the same time I can provide good tailored programs and exercises for each different learning style!

Experience / Qualifications
I started bashing drums at the age of 3 in a shed with my father on guitar which feeded me with Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck's music all day, leaving a mark as my first influences. Growing up with 70's Rock music I then got into multiple Rock styles to move further on to a totally different world: Funk. James Brown became my obsession and all the groove related music a world to explore..Hip-Hop, Nu Soul and all R&B styles followed on.

Once moved to the Netherlands I enriched all my experiences meeting new musicians and a higher level of musicianship that pushed my boundaries and taught me a lot on the way. I've always played with many musicians and got involved in different settings. Being open for any kind of gig broaden my knowledge and views leaving me with good live performance experiences and lots of fun!

Musicians are a big network of knowledge and the only way to learn is to dive into it, going to every jam session and concert to build the musician you want to be!
