Hi everyone! I’m presently a student of Genetics and Bioengineering in Istanbul Bilgi University. As majority universities are leaning towards English as the primary source of instruction in Istanbul, I feel it is important to have full command over the language. I have studied English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology under the Cambridge Assessment International Education and have secured A’s and B’s in both my Ordinary and Advanced Level Exams. I had a 3.4 GPA in university. My Biology, Chemistry, Physics and BILET test preparation classes will include detailed discussions of topics as well as solving examples and queries/homework questions.

I am a native English language speaker with 5 to 6 years experience in tutoring English to people between the ages of 3 to 20. Therefore I have had the opportunity to experience several different types of tutees as well as English backgrounds. I also have study plans, based on varying English levels, that will enable a person to become fluent in both written and oral English. I currently live in Istanbul and can provide both online and in-person classes, depending on the requirement and location.

English language is a universal language, that as an individual I believe is extremely important for people of all ages all over the world. But don’t worry, it is never too late to learn a language because you are never too old. I have 12 years of teaching experience, mostly from London. I am actually a qualified Educational Psychotherapist but would like to keep teaching where possible and enjoy meeting new people and having good conversation. This is a conversational class so you should expect relaxed but meaningful conversations with me. All levels of English are welcome, I can easily tailor to suit your needs. I will be honest so that I can help you to improve but non-judgemental. I will also be patient and allow you lots of time to find your words and sequences. I will speak at a good pace to ensure you understand me and give time for you to take notes if you choose too. In our classes, we will spend time getting to know one another. Students are encouraged to suggest topics for conversation otherwise we will discuss the UK and British culture. I will also be highlighting common phrases and idioms in our conversations that are not always easily understood.

I am a CELTA qualified English tutor based on the Asian side of Istanbul, with experience in preparing students for the IELTS, TOEFL and SAT exam. I also teach business and conversational English. During these lessons, I meticulously guide them through understanding test structures while honing their skills and subskills, ensuring they are well prepared to achieve optimal results. The SAT test is taken by high school students to demonstrate to colleges what the prospective student knows and how well they can apply their knowledge.
