About Me

I am a long-time Francophile who studied French Language and Literature for a total of five years at University. In that time, I received two scholarships for further study in Tahiti and New Caledonia, and subsequently went on to study post-grad Communications and Public Relations. After 20 years of working in the corporate world, I have decided to circle back to my first love - la langue française. Although not my native tongue, I have a colloquial French accent, and understand perfectly the challenges of shifting your thinking from English into French. I teach with humour, empathy and understanding which make the journey to fluency more enjoyable - and quicker, as a result.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to learn Arabic by transcribing words instead of learning the alphabet first. Think about how we learned English back in school. The best way to learn a new word is to see it, hear it, write it and speak it, so combine those activities as much as you can.
