I offer an approach tailored to your needs (playful, based on learning songs, or more formal with college or university-level learning materials, etc.) You will learn the sounds of your instrument, the proper posture for comfort, rhythms, and techniques useful at all levels of learning. You will learn the specific mechanisms of each instrument and its relationship to other percussion instruments in traditional ensembles. For intermediate musicians, you will be able to develop a practice routine, learn a series of exercises to refine your mastery of your instrument's sounds and your dexterity on it. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the roots of your instrument and develop a rhythm library to use according to your goals. For advanced musicians, we can explore how to conceptualize your place within a music group or percussion ensemble, as well as different approaches to your instrument adapted to popular, jazz or global music contexts.

One of these rhythms is the "tresillo", which is found in several popular dances in Abya Yala / Anahuac / Tawantinsuyo such as cumbia, bachata,bullengue, reggaeton*, etc. This rhythm is also present in millennial cultures around the world.
