If you live in Georgia and you want to communicate with people or if you’re just interested in this wonderful language, then this course is for you! Besides being a native speaker, I’m into linguistics: I’m doing my Masters in Romance Philology (French Philology). I spent a semester in Montpellier, France and studied French and Comparative Literature in Montpellier Paul Valery University as a part of the Erasmus Exchange Program. I graduated in Art Theory and History from Tbilisi State University, so I have a deep understanding of linguistics and culture. Apart from learning the language, you will become acquainted with Georgian literature and culture during your studies.

About Me

My lessons develop all four key language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I create interactive, engaging classes where students are encouraged to ask questions, participate actively, and apply their knowledge in real-life contexts. Lessons are lively, energetic, and designed to make learning both effective and enjoyable. Students build their own sentences, dialogues, and texts based on the material covered, and reinforce their skills through role-plays and situational games.

I believe play is essential in learning. Inspired by Johan Huizinga’s Homo Ludens, I integrate elements of play and imagination into my teaching so that lessons resemble real-life rehearsals. This approach fosters creativity, open-mindedness, and confidence, enabling students to go beyond the boundaries of everyday thinking.

As a translator, I use translation and interpreting to deepen students’ understanding of linguistic differences and the unique features of the target language. I also emphasize cultural immersion, convinced that mastering a language requires knowledge of the culture in which it is spoken. Personally, I improved my own language skills through literature and film—watching Downton Abbey and The Crown in English, Éric Rohmer’s films in French, Almodóvar’s in Spanish, Tarkovsky’s in Russian, and Fellini’s in Italian. For this reason, I encourage my students to explore Georgian literature and cinema as part of their learning journey.
