I offer individual piano lessons for children, teenagers, and adults, for both beginners and advanced students. Lessons are available from 30 minutes and are individually tailored to the age, playing level, musical interests, and personal goals of each student.
My main focus is on online piano lessons, with which I have already had very positive experiences. This teaching format works exceptionally well and allows for flexible, regular, and personalized lessons, regardless of location.
In addition to online lessons, in-person piano lessons are also possible by individual arrangement and upon request.
In my lessons, I place particular emphasis on sound piano technique, musical expression, and above all, the joy of making music.

Extra information

For teaching children, I work with, among others, the piano schools "Tastenzauberei", "Mini Maestro" and "Piano Kids".
For adults, I particularly recommend the piano school "Piano - my favorite hobby", which offers materials for different playing levels.
Furthermore, together we select suitable repertoire and supplementary teaching materials according to the individual level, musical interests and personal goals.

I am a professional pianist and experienced piano teacher with a Master's degree from the Mozarteum University Salzburg and over 15 years of teaching experience. Since 2024, I have been teaching at the Salzburg City Music School, working with students of all ages and skill levels. Welcome! My name is Kym and I am the founder of Salzburg's first music school through the English language, Music through English Salzburg. I am an Irish pianist and piano teacher based in Salzburg, Austria. I hold a first class honours Master's degree in Piano Performance from MTU Cork School of Music, Ireland and two honours Bachelor's degrees in both Music and Education (BMus, BEd). I love both playing and teaching the piano and it has long been my dream to move open my own music school where I can do both!

I teach in-person and online piano lessons for both beginner students and more advanced students. I am very passionate about piano performance and pedagogy, and I strive to make the lessons as engaging and student-centered as possible.

My in-person lessons take place at my studio at St. Elisabeth's Church Salzburg (Pfarrkirche Salzburg - St. Elisabeth, Salzburg) on a Hofmann piano. My online lessons take place over zoom.

I am very student oriented so whatever your goal is or what specific pieces you want to learn, we will work on that.
A relaxing atmosphere is really important to me. A student should never fear to play wrong or feel bad because he/she didn't practice. We learn from mistakes and of course practicing would be really great, but in the end it is your goal to learn to play the piano, I'm just there to help you.

Additionally, I received the Konzertexamen at the University of Music Nuremberg.
