Conservatory student gives lessons in guitar, music theory and musical composition (all styles)
From 80.15 C$ /h
Having graduated with a master's degree in musicology, I am currently pursuing my higher education at the conservatory in the scholarly disciplines of composition, analysis, writing, musical arrangement, and Jazz.
I have been playing guitar for many, many years now, as well as piano and flute.
I have been teaching guitar, piano, flute and musical education for several years now to children, teenagers and adults.
I also have a very good level in music theory, writing (jazz and classical), harmony as well as musical composition.
My classes are based on listening as well as the development of the musical ear and musical creativity. I try to transmit my passion for music by making my students discover very varied horizons, from jazz to classical music, including current music and so-called traditional music.
I also seek to develop autonomy in my students, an essential quality in order to flourish both musically and in everyday life. This is why I insist on the knowledge of the instrument and the development of creativity through the teaching of applied music theory and the development of the ear.
My course is aimed at both beginners and people of an intermediate or advanced level who would like to improve their skills.
If you are looking for a teacher who is both pedagogical and attentive, do not hesitate to contact me.

About Me
My name is Damien, I'm 27 years old, and alongside my studies, I've been teaching music to children, teenagers, and adults for several years. Truly versatile, I'm able to adapt to the needs and personalities of my students. In fact, I base my guitar and music teaching on developing my students' creativity and musical ear. In my opinion, the most important thing is to foster independence and a passion for music in my students. Too often, in traditional music education, teachers prioritize the mechanical aspects of the instrument over developing the student's creativity and musical ear. Therefore, I constantly strive to introduce my students to new musical styles, whether it's jazz, rock and pop, the vast world of classical music, or even non-European music.
Although the technical work of the instrument is essential, the development of a sense of creativity and a personal musical curiosity is too often overlooked. Music, above all else, should be a source of wonder, sharing and personal enrichment for the student. This is how my teaching revolves around the development of the ear (especially through singing), the practice of improvisation in order to free the imagination, and the learning of the basics of harmony and music theory in order to allow my students, even the youngest, to be able to create their own pieces and to navigate as they wish in this vast ocean that is music.
Whether, whether you are a parent and you are looking to help your children develop through the practice of music, or an adult in search of new knowledge, my teaching seems ideal to help you.

Education
Regarding my student and professional career, I hold a license in musicology, ethnomusicology course (study and practice of extra-European music) obtained at the University of Paris 8 of Saint-Denis.
I am currently studying composition (for orchestra, small instrumental ensembles), baroque, classical and modern writing, analysis as well as jazz, simultaneously at the conservatory of Gennevilliers and at the conservatory of the 1st arrondissement.

Experience / Qualifications
I have been practicing the guitar as well as the piano, alone or in a group, since my teenage years. In addition to that, I have been playing the transverse flute in various jazz groups for four years now. A large part of my musical practice revolves around the Gamelan Balinais, a group with which we performed in the large Pierre Boulez hall of the Philarmonie de Paris on October 2, 2021 as part of the Nuit Blanche.

My courses are primarily aimed at those who are starting out in music and who wish to begin learning the flute, including ear training and the discovery of music theory, or at those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the instrument and explore new repertoires.
