Oboe/ Music theory/ Piano lessons for any age - gain confidence, fulfilment and have fun!
From 119.97 C$ /h
I am a professional oboist with over 20 years of specialised music education in England, Germany, and Belgium and performing experience with some of the best orchestras in the world including the London Symphony Orchestra, Gurzenich Orchestra in Koln, and National Orchestra of Belgium.
I have experience teaching young children, teenagers, and adults as well as giving group lessons. I offer private one on one lessons either in my home or yours (and at the moment via webcam) with a focus on fun, musical fluency, gaining confidence in technique, and learning repertoire.
Whether you're a complete beginner or more advanced, feel free to take some lessons with me and we can work on whatever area you would like to improve on. I believe that learning an instrument should be fun and enjoyable so lessons are student-centred and always with an encouraging atmosphere.
I also offer music theory lessons for school children to support their musical education and any exams they might be taking.
Piano lessons for the complete beginner - my main instrument is the oboe but if you'd like to start learning the piano, I can give lessons in your home and get you started with the basics!

About Me
I believe that lessons should always be enjoyable and that the relationship between teacher and student should be one based on trust and cooperation. I want to help you achieve any goals you might have, whilst encouraging you to improve and get the most out of the oboe (or music theory/piano).
I am friendly, encouraging, and professional - I prepare lesson material in advance and there will always be a focus on playing and repertoire. I believe that good technique is essential but I want my students to have fun and form positive associations with music, rather than seeing it as something else they 'have' to do.
I encourage students to tell me what they enjoy and what they would like to focus on, but can also give guidance and structure to the course of lessons so that students are clear on what they are aiming for!
Lessons should never be scary or stressful - I want students to feel confident and to come away from lessons feeling like they've accomplished something in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
