About Me

I am a friendly and patient science tutor with a strong academic background in Chemistry, Biology, and computational science. I enjoy helping students understand difficult scientific ideas in a simple and logical way rather than relying only on memorisation.

My lessons are interactive and adapted to each student’s level, learning style, and academic goals. I use clear explanations, diagrams, real-life examples, practice exercises, and exam-style questions to make Chemistry and Biology more understandable and enjoyable.

I am currently completing a PhD in Chemistry, where I use molecular simulations and computational methods to study chemical systems and environmental materials. My research experience has strengthened my ability to explain scientific concepts clearly, analyse problems carefully, and connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

I also hold an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling and have studied topics including physical chemistry, quantum chemistry, thermodynamics, molecular modelling, materials science, and data analysis.

During my academic career, I have presented scientific work, supported colleagues and students in understanding technical topics, and developed clear educational materials and presentations.

I also hold a Cambridge CELTA qualification with a Pass B, which provided professional training in lesson planning, student-centred teaching, explaining concepts clearly, checking understanding, and adapting lessons to different learners.

Through my work with my children (23, 16, and 12 years old), I've realized that children are finding it increasingly difficult to concentrate on understanding a lesson, its logic, the tools it gradually provides (theorems, definitions, etc.), and how to use them. They are less and less able to take notes and reflect by writing down their ideas. In my opinion, excellence lies in this.

School tends to reduce success to one thing: results. Memorizing a lesson, getting the grade, then forgetting everything a week after the exam.
But learning is much more than that.

What matters to me is passing on skills that last. Learning how to learn. Developing a real work methodology. Knowing how to find information, understand it, analyze it, and build a sound argument. These are the skills that make the difference, not only in studies, but in everything that comes after.

My teaching method? I don't give the answers; I ask the right questions so that the student can find them for themselves, and I start with concrete examples before moving on to theory. Because a concept that is truly understood is never forgotten.

What I want to avoid above all else? Dependence. Many students wait for their teacher to provide the solution. My goal is for my students to gain autonomy and confidence, so they no longer need me.

I begin my support with a diagnostic session in order to fully understand the cognitive profile of my students.
