Hello! I'm Davide, from Caserta (near Naples), and I've been studying music since I was 5. I obtained two jazz saxophone diplomas from the conservatories of Bologna and Salerno, with an Erasmus experience at CODARTS in Rotterdam.

I am a concert artist and have a great passion for teaching. With this lesson I will show you how to approach an instrument like the piano, such a beautiful and versatile instrument. I will teach you the technique of sound, scales, chords and their interrelationships.

Let me express my passion for teaching my instrument and emphasize the utmost importance of developing a deep understanding of sound and rhythm. We will embark on an extensive journey that includes ear training through singing melodies, exploring scales, diving into harmony using the piano, and even a little music theory if you are interested.

Our focus will be primarily on honing our listening skills, as that is the key element. Note that our approach to learning is not to read music notation or rely on written material. We want to enjoy it, and if we ever choose to transcribe music, we can take the opposite route. We will learn to feel the rhythm and then put it into written form.

Every person has their own musicality—we just need to let it come out.

My goal as a teacher is to help you discover how much fun, joy, and passion music can bring. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, I will guide you in developing both your technical skills and your personal voice on the saxophone.

I began my musical journey in Verona, Italy, where I graduated in Classical Saxophone in 2017. Soon after, I started teaching saxophone at the Lizard Music Academy in Garda and introducing music to children in primary and middle schools. Later, my passion for improvisation and creativity led me to continue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I specialize in Jazz and Latin music.

I believe music has no age: you are never too young or too old to express yourself through an instrument. If you feel drawn to the warm, expressive sound of the saxophone, let’s begin this musical journey together.

SAXOPHONE LESSONS:
To truly express your musical ideas on the saxophone, you need a strong connection between body, mind, and instrument. That’s why every lesson begins with a focus on sound and technique—developing your tone, breath control, and body awareness.

You will learn how to shape your own saxophone sound and how to “sing” through the instrument. For beginners, this process may take a few weeks, but it quickly shows how musical practice can positively influence not only your playing but also your body, emotions, and creativity.

To make your learning experience enjoyable and personal, my lessons are always adapted to your goals and musical interests—whether that’s reading music, improvisation, or other areas you want to explore.

Together, we will also build your own personal repertoire of songs that reflect who you are. The second part of each lesson will be dedicated to working on these pieces, so that you develop not only technique but also musical expression.

HOW MY LESSONS WORK
In my lessons, the main focus is sound. A beautiful saxophone sound has the power to captivate an audience with just a single note. That’s why we always start by working on long tones across the full register of the instrument. The more natural and relaxed your embouchure and body are, the more easily the reed will vibrate—resulting in a warmer, personal sound.

We will then explore saxophone technique, including scales, arpeggios, vibrato, tonguing, dynamics, overtones, and playing in both the low and high registers. These exercises will give you the technical foundation to express yourself freely.

From there, we’ll connect technique with music:
1. Harmony & Improvisation – We’ll work directly on the songs you love. By transcribing, analyzing, and exploring harmony, you’ll learn how to improvise over chord progressions and develop your own repertoire.
2. Reading Music – An essential skill if you want to play in bands, ensembles, or orchestras. We’ll practice sight-reading and written repertoire to strengthen this ability.
3. Audition Preparation – If your goal is to enter a conservatory (classical or jazz), I have experience guiding students through auditions. We can focus on etudes, required repertoire, and exam preparation.

Above all, my approach is personalized to your goals and interests. Whether you want to play your favorite songs, learn to improvise, or prepare for advanced studies, I’ll guide you step by step.

I believe that music makes the mind free, and that everybody can play—it’s just a matter of practicing and listening in the right way.

Together, we will listen to the milestones of great composers and performers who shaped the history of this fantastic instrument.

It’s a journey of discovery into the beauty of music through the saxophone—one that will inspire you, expand your listening, and deepen your passion for this amazing art form.

I, Kaori, have been active in the musical sector as a driven entrepreneur since 2016. At the age of three I started playing the piano, when I was 16 I composed my first piano song, and at the age of 18 I started to conduct small ensembles and create my own multidisciplinary to create projects with a mix of music, theater and other arts. By sharing my love for music, I ensure that the message gets across to the musicians, regardless of their level. My main focus is on playing together, being musically active and having fun in the process.

I believe that every person is different and has different needs and abilities, that's why I like to adapt to my students and take care of their interests. In case the student does not have a clear view, I help him/her to find what appeals to him/her.

If the student wishes, I can easily prepare him/her for the entrance exams for the conservatory.

Hello everyone, my name is Bardia an experienced and enthusiastic violin teacher in Rotterdam.
The key words for my teaching are fun and personal development.
What matters the most to me is to have students feeling at ease with my teaching and feeling motivated after a lesson. This is why we will be playing lots of pieces together in duos, trying to develop complicity at your own pace, no rush ever.

Music is Play! and everyone is it's own game.
Read, understand and make only the music you like. I think if it isn't fun, it can't be music:)

I studied a classical piano bachelor, and later a jazz master and a live electronics master. In the meantime, I have been teaching music. It's longer than 9 years now!
Most of my students learn piano. With the starter ones, I use my own system to equally help them grow all the needed skills: body consciousness (to avoid lesions or bad habits), music theory (including writing and reading) and improvisation.
Usually most songs are made of melody, chords and rhythm. From there, I can help you understand how a song works, how is it written, how does it translate to the piano... and voilá! You'll know the song by heart, and will be able to play it a bit different every time, because you won't be following a set of pre-imposed instructions. You will understand how a small system (a song) works.
This way of learning can be applied to any song, from any century or style. Understanding is key! Play Chopin, write rock songs, play Monk, Bill Evans, the Beatles, make a lo-fi beat, play Beethoven, play the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars, play video game music, play salsa! bachata and make people dance, laugh or cry.
Music is very powerful!

PD: I have also experience imparting electronic music lessons in Ableton Live and Max MSP, which is now a very important part of my professional practice. In case you are interested, it is also possible to mix the two worlds and create a any kind of path between piano, synths, beats and home studio techniques.

It's also not important if you cannot read music, I can help you with that as well. If you are already a singer, we will work in order to refine your technique.

Although I have the most experience with classical, I am able and I am glad to teach other styles!

Voice, breathing, and posture are connected and fundamental for a healthy technique so we will also work on that while we focus on your voice.

Singing can be very personal and confronting but do not fear, we work in a safe environment.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts.

My name is Abraham, and I’m a third year jazz piano student at Codarts Rotterdam. I have been playing for 14 years, most of which were spent in classical music. I teach all levels and styles (classical, pop, jazz, etc.). It can be with or without theory, depending on what you prefer. Guitar is a very versatile instrument, used in many different genres, including classical music. For me, my journey with it started somewhere in my early childhood, primarily with listening to my mum's playing of folk songs. What amazed me is the power that music has to make people come together and communicate. So at 10, I formally started my individual relationship with the instrument, studying classical guitar, which has given me some of the greatest pleasures in this life, and I hope it will be my source of joy until my dying day. Currently, I am studying Makam music at the Global Music Department of Codarts, Rotterdam. I am a Master’s student in Classical Composition at Codarts(Rotterdam Conservatory).

To improve music composition and piano skills, rather than lessons that are overly theoretical, broad, and generic, what is needed are practical and applicable lessons that focus on the essential key points and tips that actually improve ability, and that teach how to do it in practice.
Tutor should respect the student’s autonomy and opinions, tailor the class to the student’s individuality and preferences, and show patience with the student’s pace of development. Based on these principles, I will teach diligently.
