“Don't play the saxophone. Let it play you.” – Charlie Parker

Every person has their own musicality—we just need to let it come out.

My goal as a teacher is to help you discover how much fun, joy, and passion music can bring. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, I will guide you in developing both your technical skills and your personal voice on the saxophone.

I began my musical journey in Verona, Italy, where I graduated in Classical Saxophone in 2017. Soon after, I started teaching saxophone at the Lizard Music Academy in Garda and introducing music to children in primary and middle schools. Later, my passion for improvisation and creativity led me to continue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I specialize in Jazz and Latin music.

I believe music has no age: you are never too young or too old to express yourself through an instrument. If you feel drawn to the warm, expressive sound of the saxophone, let’s begin this musical journey together.

“Whatever you think can’t be done, somebody will come along and do it.” – Thelonious Monk

SAXOPHONE LESSONS:
To truly express your musical ideas on the saxophone, you need a strong connection between body, mind, and instrument. That’s why every lesson begins with a focus on sound and technique—developing your tone, breath control, and body awareness.

You will learn how to shape your own saxophone sound and how to “sing” through the instrument. For beginners, this process may take a few weeks, but it quickly shows how musical practice can positively influence not only your playing but also your body, emotions, and creativity.

To make your learning experience enjoyable and personal, my lessons are always adapted to your goals and musical interests—whether that’s reading music, improvisation, or other areas you want to explore.

Together, we will also build your own personal repertoire of songs that reflect who you are. The second part of each lesson will be dedicated to working on these pieces, so that you develop not only technique but also musical expression.

HOW MY LESSONS WORK
In my lessons, the main focus is sound. A beautiful saxophone sound has the power to captivate an audience with just a single note. That’s why we always start by working on long tones across the full register of the instrument. The more natural and relaxed your embouchure and body are, the more easily the reed will vibrate—resulting in a warmer, personal sound.

We will then explore saxophone technique, including scales, arpeggios, vibrato, tonguing, dynamics, overtones, and playing in both the low and high registers. These exercises will give you the technical foundation to express yourself freely.

From there, we’ll connect technique with music:
1. Harmony & Improvisation – We’ll work directly on the songs you love. By transcribing, analyzing, and exploring harmony, you’ll learn how to improvise over chord progressions and develop your own repertoire.
2. Reading Music – An essential skill if you want to play in bands, ensembles, or orchestras. We’ll practice sight-reading and written repertoire to strengthen this ability.
3. Audition Preparation – If your goal is to enter a conservatory (classical or jazz), I have experience guiding students through auditions. We can focus on etudes, required repertoire, and exam preparation.

Above all, my approach is personalized to your goals and interests. Whether you want to play your favorite songs, learn to improvise, or prepare for advanced studies, I’ll guide you step by step.

I believe that music makes the mind free, and that everybody can play—it’s just a matter of practicing and listening in the right way.

If you feel that the saxophone is your instrument... what are you waiting for? 🎷 Let’s make music together!

FOR THE CURIOUS (and the Nerdy!):
For students who want to dive deeper into the world of the saxophone, I also offer special listening sessions dedicated to the instrument’s role in music history and across different styles.

We’ll explore the saxophone in classical repertoire (Gershwin, Bizet, Milhaud, Rota, Bernstein, Steve Reich, Michael Nyman...), and then follow its journey through popular music: Blues, Jazz (Stan Getz, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins...), Latin, Rock & Roll, Pop, and beyond—right up to today’s music.

Together, we will listen to the milestones of great composers and performers who shaped the history of this fantastic instrument.

It’s a journey of discovery into the beauty of music through the saxophone—one that will inspire you, expand your listening, and deepen your passion for this amazing art form.

Do you want to work on classical repertoire? Do you want to learn songs from around the world or invent your own? do you want to play happy birthday to your best friend with a Cello?

Let's explore together this beautiful instrument with pieces that you like, finding different ways to play one thing, becoming actors on the stage of music... Let's create games to develop creativity and technique, those that will help you to personalise your way of playing.

With music, we learn much more than just playing pieces. I always thought about how the ancient Greeks introduced Music as an essential subject in school. Music was to heal, to entertain, to get to know yourself more.
I'm just finished my studies in the University of Arts of Codarts (Rotterdam) and I can't deny I will always keep learning after finishing my degree. I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge and to hear what you already know.

What can i offer?
Styles that we can work on: Classical, Folk, Jazz, Pop music.
Languages that we can speak in the lesson: Dutch, English, Catalan or/and Spanish
Skills that we can work on: basic techniques, jazz and folk techniques, play the cello while singing, percussion on the cello.

How do I work?
Each class will be individually prepared, in order to have the student goals in mind. In our first lesson we can get to know each other and then we will figure out what do you want and how can I help you.
For BEGINNERS I teach the bow, finger positions and other basics with easy songs (with kids I add games to make it more entreating). Such as relating painting with playing, dancing with playing or literature with playing.
For AVERAGE LEVEL we explore, with already some technique, how to play songs, finding a good sound and feel at ease with the instrument.

Extra activities:
Once a month I plan a rehearsal with pianist to work on some repertoire of cello and piano. Meetings with other students are also arranged to play duos together. It's very necessary to play with people and not get stuck in our own individual studies!

Do you have doubts or need more information? Don't hesitate to write me a message!

Did you know that in the Klezmer history clarinet substituted the violin for projection reasons but also because perfectly able to imitate the human voice, crying or laughing? Then through technique and repertoire (suggestions of the student or suggestions of mine that can help to grow the student curiosity), we develop the student knowledge.

Always helping the student to understand -depending on his/her the theoretical level- what we are doing, putting together music and theory. And giving tools to expand the border, at all levels. I have knowledge and experience in Jazz, Classical, Klezmer, Choro Music and Improvisation.
You just need a precious element!

I try to help the student simplifying the material because then, we only with ourselves with a good procedure of the basics to solve any problem. Only with one lesson, you will understand what I mean.

I have experience in preparing students for exams, the ones for the semester as well as any official exam; doesn't matter if you have an intermediate theory level and you want to improve, or if you would like to be stronger solidifying the knowledge you have (which is always the best option), or if you don’t know anything about notes and music concepts and you would like to be familiar with them. Music is passion, art, expressiveness but alongside it there is also discipline, so as a teacher I like to introduce to my students both sides of music: the technical side, music theory, reading notes, technique and posture, and the more practical side where I stimulate students to let themselves be guided by their intuition based on their musical tastes, so that they learn to play their favorite songs in a very short time and immediately enjoy music through the bass, developing the ear training technique as much as possible.

During my lessons you will learn all the important techniques to play your favorite music, from the basic technique to the slap through the plectrum and palm mute technique.

The whole electronic side is also part of my lessons, from amplifiers to effects, everything you need to understand how to build a good bass sound, your own bass sound!

Haven't bought your bass yet? Don't worry, during the first lessons there will always be an instrument for you in my studio ready to be played and in the meantime we can decide together which instrument is best suited to you by guiding you in your first purchase.

I'm Keith, a professional jazz singer, composer, and educator with over 12 years of experience. I hold a degree in Jazz Vocals from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where I graduated in 2022. Before moving to the Netherlands, I spent six years as the resident artist with an acclaimed a cappella theater group in Hong Kong.

My extensive background includes coaching amateur a cappella groups, teaching vocal lessons in Hong Kong’s secondary schools, and providing choir lessons at the European School The Hague since 2021. My diverse experience ensures that I can help you refine your singing abilities, regardless of your current level.

Each lesson is tailored to your individual needs, ensuring steady progress. Here's what we can work on together:

- Interpretation & Expressiveness: Learn how to convey emotion and tell a story through your performance.
- Jazz Improvisation: Unlock your creativity and develop your improvisational skills in jazz.
- Stage Presence: Build confidence and polish your performance skills for the stage.
- Music Theory, Solfège & Ear Training: Strengthen your foundational knowledge to become a well-rounded musician.

I conduct lessons in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and a little Dutch, making them accessible and comfortable for a wide range of students.

If you’re ready to transform your singing, or if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s make music together!

Hey there! My name is Yorgos and I am a guitar performer and instructor. Originating from Greece I embarked on musical journey to the Netherlands because of its reach musical scene. For the past eleven years I have been pursuing my musical career in the city of Rotterdam and have been teaching in various musical styles and ages.

At the age of fourteen, I picked up a guitar, and two decades later, it feels like an extension of my soul. With over twenty years of experience strumming and shaping melodies, I’ve spent eleven of those years sharing my passion as a private instructor and performer. My musical journey has led me to teach a diverse range of students—from seven-year-olds to adults—covering everything from the pop and blues to the soulful depths of rock, jazz, funk, and folk.
During my studies at the Royal Conservatory I learned the how work with the basics of the Kodaly solmisation system and In addition I taught ensemble lessons at the International School of The Hague. Further on, I got the opportunity to develop my knowledge on music theory, and gained experience with rhythmic, melodic solfège and sightreading.

These are topics I always like to include in my lessons, because I find them very important not only for the personal growth of each musician, but also for the deeper connection they create between the musician and the instrument.
Finally, even though I like incorporating all the elements mentioned above into my lessons I foremost focus on tailoring the lessons around the needs of every student and helping in any way I can their growth of musical curiosity.
I am looking forward to hearing from you and exploring the vast and beautiful world of music together!
