During my one to one singing sessions I work with the individual needs of the student and determine what learning approach would best suit them. I have some keen singers and we enjoy singing together and working on favourites for small performances. I also teach guitar in line with the type of music that the student most enjoys and is motivated to play. With my younger students basic action songs and nursery rhymes can form a large part of the sessions, if they enjoy movement and joining in.

Not only is it a great industry to get into, songwriting has enormous benefits to mental health as it provides a platform for creative expression which in my many years of experience has helped so many of my younger as well as older students. In my class, you will learn the foundations behind creating a great song including: Songwriting forms and structure in all genres, music theory and understanding chord progressions and modes, breaking music theory conventions in order to create a unique sound, great songwriting tools to help with 'writers block', performance coaching and how to convey your songs message on stage as well as all things music industry, including the importance of copyright and how to protect your songs. My students will be working with me on constructing songs as beginners and my more experienced songwriting students will work with professional music industry briefs that I will provide. Students will be able to write songs comfortably and autonomously after only a handful of lessons with me.
