Hello,
I’m Wayne, a professional singer, songwriter and tutor from London that now resides in Paris. My classes have a dual role, they are aimed at those who want to learn how to sing and create their own unique songs to suit their voice. I will show you that singing is not necessarily about having a big voice, it’s about understanding your instrument and expressing it in the most effective “soulful”way. We will go through technique which is very important but also we will learn to let go and feel the music that is inside. Music is transformative and I aim to create a comfortable and safe space for letting go, as that’s when the magic happens. In my profession I have written many songs for other artists and performed on many radio hits. If you would like links I would be happy to send them to you.

I am a professional lyric soprano graduated from the CNSM of Lyon.
I participate in productions with the Concert d'Astrée, the Choir of Namur, Accentus, the Opéra National de Lorraine, Choir de la Chapelle Harmonique. I am also on the lists of the Montpellier Opera, Concert Spirituel, Ensemble Correspondances and Radio France choir.
I have just finished a production of Haydn's Die Schöpfung at the Opéra National de Lorraine last January-February, conducted by Marta Gardolinska (Guillaume Fauchère choir director), directed by Kevin Barz.

I sang solo and in chorus the role of the Trojan woman in Campra's Idomenée in 2021 at the Lille Opera and the Berlin Staatsoper, staging of the fura dels baus,
I also sang the solo of Campra's Requiem at the philharmonies of Luxembourg, Lille, Essen Cologne and Berlin with the Concert d'Astrée in 2019 directed by Emmanuelle Haïm.

In 2019, I participated in the production of Les Indes Galantes by Rameau with the Namur Choir at the Opera Bastille, directed by Leonardo Garcia Alarcon and directed by Clement Cogitore. In 2022, I participated in numerous productions, notably with the Accentus choir in Beethoven's 9th symphony, the missa solemnis or even a polyphonic baroque project.
In 2022 I participated in the production of Hulda by Cesar Franck with the Namur Choir at the Grand Manège de Namur, the Liège Philharmonic and the Théatre des Champs Elysées.

My background as well as my skills in lyrical singing allow me to master my instrument well. I am a very curious and very patient person, and I like to find solutions to problems. Transmitting my passion to students wishing to discover or develop their voices, discover their artistic personality would be a great pleasure for me. If I can transmit this joy that I have from singing as well as my acquired knowledge, it would be a great exploration for them as for me.

My teacher's credo

As an opera singer, I have had the opportunity to perform on international stages while continuing to teach, which is a true vocation for me.

In vocal pedagogy, I believe that each student is the bearer of a unique instrument: their voice. This is why it is essential to adapt teaching and methodological tools to the individuality of each student. This approach allows me to conduct my classes in a variety of ways, choosing the most relevant vocal exercises or repertoire pieces to reveal the individual potential of each voice.

My technique is based on:

Katherine has been vocally trained in contemporary for 25 years and studied classical voice for three years. After developing Muscular Tension Dysphonia in 2010 and not singing for almost two years, she overcame this vocal disorder after working with some of the best voice and voice rehabilitation specialists in the UK. This experience further motivated her interest in teaching the following to her students in contemporary voice* using knowledge and training gained by renowned vocal coaches, ENTs and voice rehabilitation specialists:

I enriched my teaching skills by working as a research assistant at the Haute école de musique de Genève (HEM). As a music educator and researcher, I have led masterclasses at university level (Haute école de musique de Genève, Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen) and lecture-recitals (Biennale Baroque Genève, Goldsmiths-University of London, Université de Genève-Musicologie), while continuing my own artistic production. As a composer, I have collaborated with ensembles such as Ensemble Contrechamps and Nieuw Ensemble, as well as with highly recognized institutions such as the Greek National Opera, Neuköllner Oper Berlin and the Athens Music Palace. As a singer myself for around ten years, I am learning to sing healthily and quickly, without forcing, with a modern and caring method.

My teaching method is based on the body, breathing and voice placement to create a clear, stable and comfortable sound.
We work on accuracy, rhythm, diction and interpretation directly on your songs.
