With 30 years of specialized classical music training and a solid background in performance and music education, I offer lessons in oboe, piano, and early childhood music education. I can also teach you oboe reed making, one of the most important aspects of playing the oboe, from the basic techniques to the little tips or tricks I've picked up through my own experience.
My lessons are tailored to your individual needs, interests, and level. We can explore technique, musical expression, your favorite pieces, and music theory together, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere where you can grow in confidence and, most importantly, enjoy playing music!
I enjoy working with children. Through Orff-Schulwerk music education, I use playful activities to nurture their musical curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Adults are just as welcome, whether you're trying an instrument for the first time or looking to develop your skills further.
I speak Mandarin Chinese, English, and German. Whatever your goals may be, we can work together to create an interesting and enjoyable learning plan that suits you!

About Me
Hi, nice to meet you! I'm Hsuan, a professional musician and teacher from Taiwan, currently based in Germany.
I hold a Master's degree in Music Performance at Hochschule der Künste in Bern, Switzerland and a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music from the National Taiwan University of Arts. I currently work as a professional oboist within the German federal government system.
As a teacher, I would describe myself as friendly, flexible, and easy to communicate with. I want my students to enjoy playing music, but I'll also give you a little nudge when it's time to practise! : ) Everyone learns differently, so I like to find an approach that works for each student, whether you're learning the oboe, piano, or exploring music for the first time as a child.
I've been teaching music for 20 years, private lessons for oboe and piano also including in Taiwan's state-supported music programs school for musically gifted students as Official Oboe Teacher. I'm also passionate about early childhood music education. My Orff-Schulwerk background includes intensive training in Taiwan, several years of teaching experience, and practical experience assisting with Musikalische Früherziehung classes for children aged 3–6 in Germany. In recognition of my involvement in this field, I was also selected to serve on the board of the Taiwan Orff-Schulwerk Association for its 13th term.
For me, teaching isn't just about helping students improve. It's also about sharing ideas, learning from each other, and discovering new things about music together. I believe that this kind of exchange makes learning more meaningful for both teacher and student.
