About Me

Teaching is the most important source of happiness in my life. I am academic teacher and musician with more than 20 years of experience of professional playing. I love to see smiling students, satisfied with my lessons. There are no better option for having fun than playing the drums. Learning instrument gives also possibility to meet fantastic people, build friendship and exprience memorable moments - in this sense joining music school was the best decision in my life. I am a skilled German pianist and teacher with a masters Degree in piano from Kungliga Musikhögskolan. In the past 24 years, I have trained both classical and jazz piano and gathered a lot of international experience in many different musical fields both as soloist and ensemble player. I have experience with working with students of all ages and skill levels and working with every kind of material. I have a patient and supportive teaching style, and I am dedicated to creating a positive learning environment for my students. I am passionate about helping each student reach their full potential and I am able to adapt my teaching style to the individual needs and preferences of each student. I'm happy to help you to make the first steps learning the piano or work with you towards an individual goal e.g. learning a specific piece, improvisation or preparing for a concert. Drumming has a positive effect on anxiety, grief, fatigue, depression and behavioral issues. While drumming children strengthen their ability to focus and work on impulse control and decision making skills. Playing the drums can help people express themselves and get in touch with their emotional state.

You will learn how to play drums for different kind of music in a band, or you can learn how to be a professional drummer.

Beginners to advanced students of all ages are welcome to learn from a drummer with 20 years of experience and a master's degree from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. I am multilingual and have a holistic approach to teaching, carefully creating unique lessons to meet the needs of each individual student. I have experience playing all styles of music and I love to share my knowledge and experience, so the course can take the direction you want. For beginners, I have many lessons to get you playing with proper technique from the start so you avoid injuries and bad habits from posture and grip. For advanced students, I can provide technical challenges and share with you the most modern concepts and techniques used today. Welcome to my Taiko drumming class, where you'll learn the art and energy of traditional Japanese drumming. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, I’ll guide you through the essentials of Taiko, helping you connect with rhythm, body movement, and Japanese culture.

In this class, you’ll learn:

Basic Taiko Techniques: Understand the fundamental methods for striking the Taiko drum, using proper posture and body alignment to channel your energy effectively.

Rhythms and Patterns: Start with basic rhythms, then progress to more complex patterns as we explore the musical structure of Japanese Taiko.

Japanese Songs: Learn a traditional Japanese song while gaining insight into Taiko’s cultural background and historical significance.

Taiko History and Japanese Culture: Dive into the rich history of Taiko and the values it embodies in Japanese culture.
