As an ESL teacher of four years, I have taught numerous students of varying ages. I have taught correct pronunciation through the phonics method, grammar, writing, reading as well as speaking.

One of my strengths as an ESL teacher, I believe, is that I have been studying Mandarin Chinese 普通话 for the past seven years. Most of my students use Mandarin Chinese as a native language and this helps me understand their weaknesses better.

Many of my young learners have successfully passed tests such as the Cambridge Young Learner's Examination at levels Pre A1, A1 and A2. Although students between the ages of six and twelve are the age group I'm most familiar with, I have taught a handful of adult learners as well as young adult learners. I have helped adult learners improve their English for the workplace and young adults prepare for university entrance interviews.
