I am offering Maths and Economics lessons for up to A level.
My tutoring approach:
I ask students to bring at least 5 questions that they are struggling with to each lesson. Firstly, this is helpful because the majority of questions in the current are synoptic, meaning they cover lots of different areas of the course. By going through these questions it uncovers where the lack of understanding lies which can then be explained. Secondly, as having recently taken these exams myself, I believe that one of the hardest parts of the exam is not the understanding of the content, but the approach to the question. This is because questions usually disguise which topics areas they relate to and by going through these questions with the student, it makes easier for the them to learn to recognise when to use certain methods to solve the problem and make it easier to complete similar questions quickly in the final exam.

About Me

I am studying Economics in Durham ! Having taken my A levels less than a ear ago the physics and maths content, along with the correct exam technique is still fresh in my memory and I now have a higher understanding of economics. I am highly flexible with hours at this current time and well organised with my schedule.

I am enthusiastic about seeing people succeed in a subject that they didn't think they could.

I have achieved 9A*'s at GCSE and 3A*'s at A Level in economics maths and physics. I am currently studying economics at Durham university so am accustomed to high pressure exams and know how to revise.

Experience / Qualifications

I have taught a few students over the previous summer in physics and maths up to A level. This has given me enough experience to find the right techniques for teaching, and how to change my approach for different students. I posses a much more in depth understanding of economics which is beneficial when tutoring others for their A level economics exams. Further to this, the mathematical area of my course is very Statistics focused, and by studying Physics as my third a level I am able to cover the mathematics full course with higher understanding of both statistics and mechanics.
