Science and Maths Courses - A level, GCSE and International Baccalaureate
From 39 C$ /h
I am an enthusiastic doctor currently offering classes in maths, biology, chemistry and physics. I am providing revision and catch-up courses for students in years 10 to 13, studying GCSE to A level (inc. IB). Classes will be catered towards those who had their studies disrupted by COVID-19, and those with Autumn Term Resits. Classes are bespoke to each student, factoring in ability and goals, which are constantly reassessed with every decision made including the student.
Lessons are catered towards specific exam boards, with attention paid to common themes amongst previous exams. There is often an unfortunate disparity between a student’s understanding and the marks they attain in formal assessment, due to the way exams are written. Therefore, I also spend time walking through exam-style questions and exam techniques to help students realise their potential.
NB. Classes are provided in English, with English being my native language.
About me:
I have recently graduated as a medical doctor from UCL, with a BSc in Global Health and Medical Sciences. I am currently taking time to work on projects within education and have over eight years’ experience in private tuition. During this time, I have had the opportunity to teach students of all abilities and work hard to adapt the content to a style suited to them. I often establish good rapport with my students and encourage them to, which helps them engage with the content, and allows me to better cater my lessons for them. I encourage all students to be inquisitive and questioning, which in my experience helps with their understanding and confidence.
Having achieved A*A*A in my A levels (Biology, Chemistry and Maths) and 10A*s at GCSE, I can appreciate the volume of work, the difficulty and the stress involved whilst sitting any formal examination. I emphasise understanding concepts when working through the syllabus and encourage learning through application. I also provide a teaching schedule with regular assessments and formal feedback.
