A new rising for music is to come. This music way of learning is called speculative music and is based on the metaphysics on music. You may have heard about “Harmony of the Spheres”, or Pythagoras’ “Tetraktys”. Or you may not! But if your interest in music is on its whole dimension, including both its mathematical and spiritual dimensions, physical and metaphysical, speculative music is for you. You will learn music a different way, that studies music ratios, frequencies, .. and notions like inspiration, Muses, levels of comprehension, macrocosmos-microcosmos relations.

This discipline is based on authors from the Ancient Greece on, and has seduced the brightest minds of all times.

I’ve been studying that matter for 10 years, making conferences, masterclasses, developing workshops and currently writing a book about this. My background is master in engineering and in music.

You will subscribe to my school, and receive a set of dossiers per month with the option of receiving feedback 1to1 from me (one topic for each dossier).

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

One of the key aspects I focus on is supporting the student's interest and developing their motivation. In connection with this, lessons are held in a comfortable, respectful psychological atmosphere without pressure, where the student can relax and be themselves, without fear of judgment from the teacher.

In lessons, I use supplementary materials such as poems, paintings, and sculptures to enrich the student's understanding of music.

Lessons are adapted for age. Children usually prefer a game-based approach: minimum theory and more playing.

The theory of everything tends to be really scary and music theory can be too. I am very keen to make music theory easy for everyone. For some people there is only one way to tackle the unmentionable but I believe there are many different approaches and one of them will click with you. It is simply finding out what is best for each person. Once we find the key we can unlock the problems that have puzzled you for ages.

This class is designed for conservatory students, private candidates and advanced musicians who need solid guidance in harmony, counterpoint and fugue, especially in preparation for exams and auditions.

We work on written exercises, stylistic correction and analytical understanding, with a clear method and step-by-step feedback. Particular attention is given to Renaissance and Baroque practices (modal counterpoint, species, tonal counterpoint, fugue), helping students understand why rules exist, not just how to apply them.

I have many years of experience teaching harmony and counterpoint, and several of my students have successfully passed conservatory composition exams thanks to this guided approach.

My methodology: Learning to structure one's thoughts to express oneself better
My approach is based on a simple observation: success is not achieved through lack of effort, but often through a lack of method and confidence. My role is to transform subjects sometimes perceived as abstract (Philosophy, French) or intimidating (English) into concrete tools for success.

The typical course of a session:
1. Quick diagnosis: We start by identifying the areas of uncertainty from the previous lesson or the difficulties with a specific exercise.
2. Taking action: No boring lectures! We work on concrete exercises, essay plans or oral practice (in English) to "learn by doing".
3. The "Montreal Method": Having worked for two and a half years in Quebec, I use a North American pedagogy that is very focused on encouragement, clear structure and student autonomy.
4. Summary & Objectives: We end each session with a recap of the key points so that the student knows exactly what to revise.

What makes the difference: As a philosophy student, I don't just teach authors; I teach the methodology that allows students to think for themselves about major philosophical concepts. In English, my dual nationality allows me to naturally correct speech patterns and accents. In French, I've had the privilege of preparing dozens of students for their Baccalaureate exams, using a targeted approach. My experience has taught me that there are no wrong answers, only ideas that need to be better formulated.
