I’m happy to have a talk to get to know me, formalities and to know what to have ready for our first lesson, but only if the first proper lesson is agreed and prepared for!

I will go through content or topics in a manner which suits the child's learning ability and engagement, since it is a one-to-one lesson, and then build upon that with questions.

I learnt to cater the lessons to engage with a more visual approach and taking small steps to encourage pupils to come out of their shell, and be more excited when they make progress. I teach using my iPad, going through notes, handwriting points and sharing my screen so the online lesson is much more interactive and more constructive.

The course focuses on Logic as a formal, Aristotelian and non-classical science. It also covers the development of mathematical, verbal and abstract reasoning; essential skills for admission exams. The classes are 20% theory and 80% practical. The resolution of exercises and their explanation are the central axis of the sessions.

The possibility of studying a specific type of reasoning is also offered at the student's request.

You will learn Systematic Reasoning & Logical Thinking which is a requirement for entering Computer Science program in many universities.
The book “Delftse Foundations of Computation” especially its second chapter will be the main source of our lesson, but other more in-depth books will be also covered if you want to improve even further on logical thinking.
The topics in our lesson include:
• Propositional Logic: Logical operators; Precedence rules; Logical equivalence; Implications in English; Exclusive or; Universal operators; Classifying propositions
• Boolean Algebra: Substitution laws
• Logic Circuits: Logic gates; Combining gates to create circuits; From circuits to propositions; Disjunctive Normal Form; Binary addition.
• Predicate Logic: Predicates; Quantifiers; Tarski’s world and formal structures;
• Deduction: Valid arguments and proofs; Proofs in predicate logic
