Private math tutoring for middle and high school (grades 10 and 11, specialized or non-specialized) students, primarily designed for neurodivergent students
From 97 C$ /h
Hello,
My name is Julia. I myself have ADHD, high intellectual potential and dyspraxia and my specialty is supporting students with this profile.
I am a tenured professor of Life and Earth Sciences, but I have acquired extensive experience in remedial mathematics for struggling students because I myself had to overcome my difficulties in math during my middle school years by developing my own method, which I have since refined. This method allowed me to pursue scientific studies despite my initial difficulties and to gain admission to the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Lyon a few years later to study geology.
I have been teaching for about twenty years in a wide variety of settings: public middle and high schools, vocational training centers, private online institutions, and private tutoring. In total, I have worked with over 1,200 students, including many neurodivergent students and about fifty expatriates. I am also listed on the EXPAT-PRO platform.
📚 Is your child in middle or high school and is mathematics a source of stress?
- He understands in class... then gets stuck on the exercises?
- Or perhaps, even in class, math seems like a jungle to him, and he doesn't know how to get out?
- He loses confidence and ends up thinking that he is "hopeless at math"?
Having myself encountered difficulties in mathematics in middle school, particularly due to my ADHD and dyspraxia, I was fortunate to benefit, in the evenings, from the help of my mother, herself a teacher.
But I also had to create the tools that allowed me to succeed on my own, without help, when faced with my exam paper. This enabled me to progress, regain confidence, and then, a few years later, obtain a scientific baccalaureate and enter the ENS of Lyon in the field of science. I would never have imagined that at the age of 13 or 14!
Having become a teacher, I have perfected this method over the years and through my interactions with students. I named it the REBOND method.
This approach helps students to regain a solid foundation, regain confidence and progress step by step towards the brevet, thanks to a multisensory, highly visual and concrete pedagogy.
✔️Online support
✔️ Priority given to Year 9 students who are struggling or lack confidence
✔️ Preparation for the patent
✔️ Personalized individual or small group follow-up based on similar needs or objectives
✔️ An approach adapted to all students, and especially to students with ADHD or "dys" disorders
Small group lessons are also possible. If your child has a classmate who is having difficulty in the same subject, or his or her older sibling needs the same kind of help, it is possible. In this case, the price is decreasing for each participant.
Please respect the reserved hours. The courses are adjustable in advance. Any course canceled less than 24 hours in advance is due at 50%. Indeed, the time that I could waste managing multiple cancellations and rescheduling of courses is time that I cannot put to the service of the success of my students.
In addition, the presence of a framework, of operating rules is necessary for the investment of the students who engage in a process of accompaniment. So, I also ask you to be punctual and to start your computer and your videoconferencing software a few minutes in advance in order to start the session on time, not to waste precious minutes of class (the session will end at the time initially scheduled ... 10 minutes late means 10 minutes of lost lessons) and to respect the students who have lessons after you.
I look forward to meeting you and bringing you my help and expertise.

Extra information
- If you want to work on a very specific course material, please send me the documents as early as possible (by email, scan or photos sent by SMS or Whatsapp, ...). For the revisions for the bac, thank you to tell me in advance, in any case, the topic approached, so that I can provide myself with the appropriate supports.
- Have your documents next to you to start the course (it seems logical, but experience forces me to remember it).
- If you have a graphics tablet, it will be welcome in the sessions I offer, especially in math.
- Connect to Skype, Zoom or other a few minutes in advance to be ready at the agreed start time of the course.
- In case of delay, please send me a message to warn me and possibly inform me of the time at which you will arrive online, that I do not remain unaware in front of my screen while waiting for you ...
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK A LESSON TIME SLOT ONLINE WITHOUT MY PRIOR AGREEMENT, as my schedule adapts to my students and may be subject to changes that do not always correspond to the availability indicated on Apprentus (which reflects the range of hours I am available to teach). I also have many local students.

About Me
A qualified biology teacher currently working freelance, and a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, I have been giving private lessons for over 15 years, including 8 as my primary occupation. With a dual degree in literature and science, I offer my expertise in several subjects: biology, mathematics, French (including French as a Foreign Language), English, and German, primarily.
Given my background, I could have prioritized my career, but I preferred to follow my personal choices. Professionally, I chose to dedicate myself to what I love most: supporting students individually or in small groups, helping them regain confidence, something I felt I was doing too incompletely within the National Education system.
A bit of a "free spirit", I like the versatility of my current activity, which, for me, is not incompatible with excellence.
Being myself dyspraxic, ADHD, and gifted, diagnosed late in life, I managed to tame my disabilities almost entirely on my own and I am keen to pass on (adapting them) the methods that allowed me to overcome them.
I also try to convey to my students, as well as to my daughter, that you should never let yourself be pigeonholed.
I also help students improve their study methods and find renewed meaning in their education. My approach combines rigor and kindness.
My current students live in mainland France, but mostly abroad and in overseas territories. I am available for extended periods during the school year and holidays (internships).

As a qualified science teacher who left the National Education system, I offer private science lessons via video conference under self-employed status.
With 20 years of teaching experience, including 10 years at the secondary level, several baccalaureate examination boards to my credit, part-time teaching in preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles (CPGE) and in the competitive teaching exam preparation program at UCB-Lyon 1, and many years of experience in private tutoring (including 8 years as my main activity), I offer my assistance in Life and Earth Sciences, from high school to post-baccalaureate level: preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles (BCPST), CAPES exam preparation, competitive teaching exam preparation, Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Geosciences, and CRPE exam preparation. I can also provide courses or thematic workshops for adults (individually or in small groups) who wish to continue learning at any age.
My lessons combine rigor and kindness, professionalism, dynamism, and humor, according to my former students when they talk about the help I've been able to provide. I am used to working with students with multiple learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, giftedness, and Asperger's syndrome, as I am neurodivergent myself.
I insist a lot on scientific methodology. I can help you optimize your learning and memorization techniques, help you get to the point, make mental maps. We will also work on the general organization of your work if necessary. I also and above all want to pass on to you my pleasure of learning and the passion of SVTs, which continue to inspire me even today.
Having taught private lessons in person at students' homes for many years, I now prefer to focus on online lessons via Zoom, Skype, or other video conferencing software. I have been teaching online since March 2020 and have since upgraded my equipment to ensure greater comfort for my students: headphones with a microphone (high-quality sound), a graphics tablet connected to an interactive whiteboard, a camera/document viewer, and front lighting to minimize harsh shadows.
Having also a first literary course (LEA English-German Masters), I was able to pass within the framework of National Education a complementary double certification allowing me to teach SVT in English and German. If you need SVT courses in these languages, please let me know in advance of the topics you want us to address.
I am available on long time slots during the week and on weekends, during school periods but also during the holidays, where I offer intensive internships if necessary.
Please respect the reserved hours. The courses are adjustable in advance. Any course canceled less than 24 hours in advance is due at 50%. Indeed, the time that I could waste managing multiple cancellations and rescheduling of courses is time that I cannot put to the service of the success of my students.
In addition, the presence of a framework, of operating rules is necessary for the investment of pupils and students who engage in a process of support.

This coaching aims to support:
1) Future parents planning a baby to overcome their fears, their blocks and their limiting beliefs, in order to approach parenthood more serenely, to find their place and to assert themselves in their parenting, by putting meaning and awareness into their choices and actions.
2) Young parents who have had a disappointing or destabilizing first experience with the arrival of their first child (overly medicalized birth, feeling like they were passive rather than active participants in the birth, feeling lost amidst conflicting advice, fears related to the awareness of parental responsibility in a fast-paced world that sometimes seems to go awry, etc.). I help them make sense of their feelings and find their place as parents to their first child(ren), and approach a potential future pregnancy with greater peace of mind, by making clear choices and setting priorities in line with their values.
This coaching approach draws on my 15 to 20 years of experience supporting young people and their families, my active listening skills, my ongoing coaching training, and my knowledge of physiological childbirth and child psychology. It also draws on my own experience as a mother and on in-depth personal work using Jungian principles.
I offer video sessions ideally for couples (or possibly for one parent). Group workshops can also be arranged if desired, allowing you to share your thoughts with other couples.
