From 24.99 C$ /h
I am an English Literature and Classical Literature and Civilisation student at the University of Birmingham, looking to tutor in English Literature, History, or Classical Civilisation up to GCSE. I can teach any aspect of English Literature and Classical Studies up to this level, and can teach the following areas of history: the Tudors (from Henry VII to Elizabeth I); American history from the invention of the cotton gin in 1793 through to the death of Martin Luther King in 1968; the First World War; and international relations during the Cold War.
I pride myself on my creativity, and through this, I provide personalized 1-1 sessions with students and gear my teaching towards their individual needs. I ask students to tell me about what they're having particular trouble with and help them understand these topics and talk through any issues. I talk to students about their preferred learning methods and structure my teaching around this for optimum results. I'm open to questions and I'm always happy to help students extend their knowledge beyond the curriculum.

About Me

I am passionate about my education and I hope to pursue a Master's degree once I've completed my undergraduate degree.

I am comfortable teaching the following subjects up to GCSE level:
-English literature
-Classical civilisation and literature/ancient history (not including ancient languages)
-Some history topics: the Tudors (from Henry VII to Elizabeth I); American history from the invention of the cotton gin in 1793 through to the death of Martin Luther King in 1968; the First World War; and international relations during the Cold War.
I ask my students to let me know what they are learning about (eg. particular books they're reading; what period of history they're looking at; specific topics) so that I can prepare lessons and resources. I also focus on what they are having particular difficulties with. Before beginning tuition, I will discuss different learning strategies with students so as to ensure all teaching is relevant and to make the best use of time.
