History Tutoring for students of all ages - from School Exams & Essay Writing, to Advanced Discussions & Debates
From 88.39 C$ /h
Having studied History throughout my academic life, both at school and at university, I now specialise in providing support for students of all ages.
Whether you're preparing for an exam and need structured, results-based teaching, or prefer to have a more casual environment for discussion, I offer an engaging range of lessons focussing around a variety of historical periods.
The lessons will focus on the periods of history that the student is primarily interested in, whilst also developing a greater understanding of the various historical methodologies that can be used more broadly when examining the chosen periods and themes.

About Me
I am a very personable and engaging tutor whose main aim is to focus my lessons around the unique needs and interests of each individual.
I have extensive experience working with students of all ages, particularly with children. I have tutored piano and singing regularly both privately, and occasionally in various educational institutions (e.g. Perseid School, Merton, for children with severe learning disabilities).
Please do get in touch with any questions you might have - I'd be more than happy to help out!

Experience / Qualifications
I have extensive experience in both
Music:
I participated in all aspects of music throughout my time at KCS Wimbledon including singing in the Chamber Choir, playing in the school orchestras and singing in several smaller groups and bands.
At University of Bristol I was a Vice-Chancellor Music scholar for 3 years and again participated in all aspects of music, including singing in the Chamber Choir and also playing in the University Symphony Orchestra. Aside to this, I have played in orchestras for productions put on by the University Opera Society and for post-graduate composition concerts and recordings.
And Acting:
I also took part in all the school plays, in both the Junior and Senior schools including acting several main roles in plays such as A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Producers, South Pacific, Sweeney Todd, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. I was also part of a professional radio drama, Charlie’s Choice, produced by Lamplighter Theatre in 2009/10. I also worked extensively with students with severe learning disabilities from Perseid School.
At university I was cast in my first year as the lead role, Sweeney Todd, in the Bristol University Opera Society production of Sweeney Todd and I also performed in Bernstein’s Candide and the university production of Mack & Mabel. I was also cast in a verbatim piece called 'Cherry' which was taken up to the Edinburgh Fringe 2017 and was very well received gaining 4 or 5 star reviews across the board and also meriting a review from the national newspaper, The Scotsman.
I completed my undergraduate degree in History at University of Bristol attaining a 2:1, achieving a 1st in my dissertation on the impact of rock 'n' roll on British society.
I am now studying on the Acting MA at Arts Ed and look forward to starting my career as a professional actor.

Beginners & Experienced actors welcome.
Getting into the industry is hard and, be it drama school auditions, auditions for a production, filming self-tapes or anything, these sessions can really help!

Vocal confidence is crucial in every walk of life, and singing is a fantastic way to boost it. Each voice is unique and should be both heard and celebrated.
These classes are designed to encourage pupils to release themselves from the pressures that often come with singing, acting and public speaking, allowing the individual to find confidence in their own voice.
My work is applicable to singing, acting monologues and public speaking so, whatever your focus, I can draw on years of experience and tuition to help.
I am a very experienced singer and musician, who trained in Acting at the prestigious Arts Ed, London.
My main aim is to build on a pupil's passion and own interests, prioritising an enjoyable, tailored approach to learning.
