Tutoring for primary school: spelling, reading comprehension, and language. Dutch for English speakers, all ages.

From 61 C$ /h

I am a primary school teacher and can help with all language subjects, for both adults and children: Reading Comprehension, Language, Spelling, Reading, Vocabulary, English.

Based on your wishes I create my lessons, so that you gain self-confidence step by step in what you (still) find difficult. With games, puzzles, explanations, conversations and practice you will improve a little bit every day.

If you want to learn or improve your Dutch, we can work on that too. I live in France myself and know how difficult and enjoyable it is to learn another language.

About Me

I recently moved to France. I enjoy teaching so much that I want to continue doing it. It's great that it can be done online!
In the Netherlands I taught at a school in the Randstad, which I really enjoyed.

I think flamingos are very funny creatures and I love everything tropical, like palm trees, watermelon, beaches, and sun. I also love reading. I don't have a single favorite book, but I do love books that look beautiful and unique.
We have 7 chickens and they lay eggs which I can use to make delicious things, such as madeleines (a cake) and pasta (ravioli, spaghetti, lasagna).
All these things that I like, can also be used well in lessons. It would be even more fun if I knew what you like, I can use that well in our lessons. Learning can be very fun, because you can make it fun ;-).

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

Is your child struggling with French at school? Does she/he have difficulties with grammar, spelling, or reading comprehension? I would be delighted to help. We will work together on her/his lessons, review the theory, and address his/her specific challenges through practice exercises.

Is the CEB or CE1D exam approaching, and you want your child to be as prepared as possible for success? I offer structured and effective support to help her/him prepare for the CEB or CE1D exams in French under optimal conditions. I will provide personalized preparation lessons tailored to your child's needs and level. We can review grammar and spelling together, practice reading comprehension exercises, develop writing skills, and, of course, practice with sample CEB or CE1D questions. I can also help her/him better understand the expectations and instructions, as well as provide guidance on exam methodology. My goal is also to boost her/his confidence, solidify the foundation, and support her/him not only with the theory but also with the personal aspects, allowing her/him to progress.

Lessons will be online, either via Google Meet or Teams. If you wish, we can also create a virtual classroom containing all the completed and upcoming exercises.

Feel free to contact me for more information!

To learn more about me: I'm an experienced teacher. I worked for several years with various non-profit organizations in Brussels (Schola ULB, Youth Club, CIFA, ABEF) with teenagers who were experiencing language difficulties at school. I am still involved in teaching, but I am currently working with private language schools, primarily with adults.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Between the two lessons you can always ask me a question about the subject what we’ve discussed. If you have a subject what you’d like to learn about the Dutch language, let me know. I’m looking forward to see you in my class.

Firstly, this lesson ensures that you as a student feel at ease! We will first get to know each other a little bit, and then you can tell me what you expect/want in a lesson, or what you specifically need. Step by step, I will ensure you, that you as a student, will learn the Dutch language. You will come to me for different reasons, for example for an integration exam, or because you live temporarily as an expat in the Netherlands and want to learn the language, others enjoy it as a hobby and others come to the Netherlands for love... There are so many reasons! My lessons are tailored to your wishes, you indicate what you want, and I will help you with it, which will make you feel more at ease. From teenage to adult students, from beginner to advanced and in between, I enjoy teaching my classes all over the world! Curious?! Then I hope to see you in my class! Greetings Carolina
