Becoming a scientist? Statistics and coding skills are an important part of your everyday job. Learn early, practice, and with no time you will be flying through your data analyses before everybody else. Using coding software such as R allows you to interpret and analyse meaningful data and plot beautiful graphs using base R or multiple libraries.
I will teach you the basic syntax of R, how to understand and 'think' like R, and build on those skills to do more complicated statistics (ANOVA's, PCA, GLM's, mixed-effects models, etc.) and - the most important(!) - how to plot beautiful graphs!

I would recommend this level of tutoring to college and university level students (that's not to deter any of you ambitious secondary/high school students, or people with a general interest, you are more than welcome!). I have put beginner level as the class title, but I am happy to teach higher levels. We can tailor the class to you if you want to focus on syntax, loops, statistics, models, figures/plots, etc. It's up to you! :)

Method of working :

1. We quickly identify the chapters that are causing problems;

I don't just provide a correction: I explain the reasoning step by step so that you are able to redo the exercises without help.

For students retaking the exam, I also offer more intensive support: level assessment, priority identification, review of fundamentals, and practice with typical exercises and past exams. The goal is to get straight to the point and work efficiently within the time available before the exam.

I have been giving private lessons for over 7 years in mathematics, statistics, economics, and accounting. I have also tutored first and second-year Bachelor's students at Solvay/ULB in mathematics, statistics, and microeconomics as part of a university tutoring program.

My professional experience in finance and business controlling at Deloitte has also allowed me to develop a very structured approach to numbers, analysis and problem-solving.

My name is Emilie and I am a veterinary medicine student. I also hold a Master's degree in health technologies and have almost 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including some time in a training-oriented role.

This experience has taught me to make sometimes complex concepts clearer, more structured and accessible, but also to adapt to very different learning styles. Some students need a diagram, a concrete example, to rephrase things aloud, or simply to proceed step by step.
