I'm a native Estonian speaker and I'd be happy to help you gain confidence in speaking Estonian, increase your vocabulary and practice your pronunciation. Depending on what you'd like to focus on, I can also help with listening, reading and writing. As an expat, I have learned new languages as well, so I want to keep the lessons focused, but relaxed. Language is something that comes to all of us in slightly different ways and at a different pace - we can guide it, but not force it.

FIRST LESSON:
During the first lesson we'll talk about your expectations and goals and establish your current level of Estonian in order to have a baseline. As the lessons will take place online, you need to have a stable internet connection and a computer or tablet with camera. We can use Zoom, Google Meets or another platform you prefer for the online lessons.

GROUP LESSONS:
I also offer group lessons. If you’d like to learn together with friends, family members, or colleagues, please contact me on Apprentus.

About Me

Lovely to meet you! My name is Kristel, I'm native Estonian speaker, born and raised in Estonia. I have also lived for several years in Denmark, and now I call Greece my home. I teach Estonian to people who are either planning to move to Estonia and want to get a head start on the language or expats who are already living in Estonia and want to practice and improve their Estonian.

I am a working artist, doing paintings, illustrations and comics, but for most of the time I have also held day jobs. The ones I've loved best have been the jobs where I have worked with international students or international colleagues - and now I'll be happy to share my language with you!

As I'm also still working on my Greek in order to pass the B2 exam next year, I can relate to your experiences as a language learner as well.

You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland.
