A-level and GCSE Chemistry, Maths and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) tutoring
From 51.91 C$ /h
I specialise in tutoring Chemistry, Maths and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) GCSE and parts of A-level. My goal is to support students in the contents that they feel unconfident in and also keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed. I assign homework after every lesson and provide periodic progress reports.

About Me
Hi everyone! My name is Irene and I recently finished my A-levels and are taking a gap year at the moment. My first language is Chinese and I’m fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, so I am able to provide supports for students taking them at GCSE and A-level. I also studied Chemistry and Maths as parts of my A-levels. I find both of these subjects very interesting as there’s a lots of things in our daily lives have linkage with them and you’ll always learnt new things in them after every lesson. I am a very friendly person and have a little brother at Year 3 and I tutor him with his English, Maths and 11+ plus. Personally, I also do piano as my hobby and have been doing grades in it.
I would make sure what the student wants to cover and prepare my lesson on that specific topic, going over the contents with them and communicating clear explanations and motivating my tutees. Alongside covering content, I can also answer questions about revision techniques and how to balance your studies with your social life (especially those that are near an exam or tests).
Regarding my tutoring style, I try to ensure that my lessons remain engaging. I find studying with questions to be effective as it simulates a more relaxed exam environment as I will be able to add my thoughts on how to improve answers. Another technique that I find helpful, is explaining various concepts to another person as being able to produce a clear and well-constructed explanation whilst also answering any questions that I ask will indicate a deep understanding of the subject.
Overall, my goals are to help my students improve in both their knowledge and their confidence in their abilities.
Thank you :)
