Chemistry (11-18 years) and Science (7-14 years) Tutoring (English)
From 42.52 C$ /h
Learning anything requires patience and resilience, and sometimes a little encouragement.
Chemistry is perhaps one of the hardest subjects to understand because it requires so much of you as a student - the concepts that are covered in Chemistry are challenging but that makes them all the more interesting. There is much to chemistry (and science in general) that is so relevant to all of us in our day-to-day lives, and it is vital to have a good understanding of these topics in our role as global citizens.
I am an experienced Chemistry teacher who has taught in Grammar schools in the United Kingdom for over 6 years - primarily the AQA Chemistry Syllabus, and I have three years experience of Private Tutoring (online due to the COVID pandemic). I have a diverse background and I bring experience from a variety of different interests to my teaching. I am therefore mindful of the barriers that young people face when they are challenged by a subject or topic, and it is my responsibility to facilitate the breaking of those barriers to develop understanding.
Lessons will be adapted according to capability and learner preference, and tailored with a practical, goal-orientated approach. In general, we will start with the basics and plenty of recall, and move to use past exam questions to develop a problem-solving, practise based approach in order to build confidence prior to the examination. Feedback will be given regularly, and whether the goal is to prepare for a particularly tough homework or assignment, or examinations, the target will be support and facilitation of your knowledge and understanding.
I am also able to proof read material (e.g. essays, assignments etc.) prior to submission. Please contact me for further details.
