About Me

I am a biochemistry undergraduate at Imperial College London. I am half French half American and have lived in Germany for 6 years. I have experience tutoring at GCSE level as well as in children’s summer schools. I hope to help students achieve their full potential, and increase motivation (during this pandemic especially, where motivation and work levels can drop off a bit). I understand how easy it is to lose passion for a subject and fall behind during remote learning, so I hope to bring back some excitement for my subjects for my students! Please message me if you have any questions/concerns.

I truly think learning Spanish has to be enjoyable and challenging (positively) and my aim is to create a fun and positive learning environment in which you can really thrive, feel confident and tranquilo.

I like to approach my students to grammar structures and cultural comprehension of the language by a variety of methods and sources such as images, videos, interviews, audios, etc. and adjust exercises of reading, listening and conversation to topics related to their particular interests and personal motivations.

May 2026: academic IELTS online and in person in London for university entrance and general IELTS for visa application. Average "grade" after 3 months (fact): 6.50 points. Summer courses for English as a Foreign Language focusing on grammar and speaking. Preparation for Life in the UK test - cultural and historical facts which will help you with the pub quiz besides worthier pursuits. For English I expect students to be literate and to be over 11 (age of secondary school admission in England). I don't tutor "groups". One-to-one is the mode of work, occasionally two in a class. You will be encouraged to develop your own academic or cultural interests (based on European culture) and do a presentation per class unless a test has priority. You will be writing a whole paper (IELTS) for each module as homework, paying particular attention to the written paper for graphs and charts and essay construction. Each lesson will involve revision of what was covered in the previous lesson. Learning by heart is encouraged!

Do you want to start learning French but have never learnt it before? Or maybe you want to perfect your understanding of French grammar, or your capacity to express yourself clearly, spontaneously and with confidence in French? Or work on pronunciation, perhaps improve your accent and learn more about French culture?
I can help you with all of these, and not only because I was born and raised in France: after getting my Master's Degree in Lingustics and Anthropology from the School for Advanced Research in Paris - at the time I was also teaching private classes of French and English to high school and university students - I moved to the UK and studied theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. There I worked on the skills any speaker needs to communicate clearly and convincingly: diction, voice projection, etc.
These two approaches - linguistics, and theatre work - give me a strong foundation from which to help any student learn French. So jump on: we'll build a learning program tailored to your needs and make sure that the lessons are both dense and fun.

As a recent graduate from a Master degree in teaching English, with 5 years of experience tutoring French children and students privately. During my two years of master, I taught English to secondary school students.
The theory and the practise, allowed me to develop my teaching skills and through tutoring I have learned to tailor my teaching methods to the student’s needs.
Moreover, throughout my years of tutoring, I could gave back the confidence that students were lacking in their education, which led to one of my students to obtain her “brevet” equivalent of the English GSCE with a high grade.
The success was hinged through the learning material that I created. Indeed, I produced my own lesson plans and I provided weekly progress homework.

Hola, me llamo Francesca. Hello everyone! My name is Francesca. I offer tuition to help students prepare for Spanish exams at secondary school and university level, as well as private lessons and corporate training (invoices provided).

For some years I have been living and working in Spain, in Barcelona. I'm Italian. I studied Spanish starting from level A1 up to level C2, certified by the most prestigious organisation in the study and teaching of the Spanish language, the Instituto Cervantes.

I have been teaching Spanish classes online since 2018.

My lessons can be in Spanish only, from day one, if the student wants. I can use other languages to clear up particularly complicated doubts. My students value this aspect positively because they can improve quickly. Since I have studied Spanish from scratch to mastering the highest level of the language, I do not only understand the doubts my students might have, but I have experienced similar situations to theirs. For this reason, I can easily understand and solve the problems you may have while learning Spanish.

I offer you a new learning experience.

Academic success, even at the university level, is determined by the ability to understand and write different types of texts. I offer courses that will allow you to overcome the difficulties you encounter in reading or writing by giving you the text-writing toolkit that school, unfortunately, doesn't provide. I myself had to build this toolkit over the years at university, and I will gladly share it with you so that you can succeed.

Here are the different points that my offer covers:

READING
Guided reading
Effective reading strategies
Text theory (structure, function, typology...)
General knowledge
Communication Theory

PRODUCTION
Reformulation
Summary
Reading log
Accurate
Text analysis
Characterization
Interpretation
Text explanation
Text commentary
Dissertation Essay
Comment
Argumentation

You can take a full course with regular sessions or one-off courses to do specific work such as writing a reading summary.

Lessons can be taken individually or in groups. The methods are flexible to adapt to each individual case.

What matters to me in particular:

motivate my student and give him a learning pace;
encourage their creativity;
to awaken his curiosity;
to forge a friendship with the texts

During this first lesson, you can get a solid idea of my teaching style. I look forward to meeting you.
