“Step-by-Step Chess Training with GM & FIDE Trainer Nikola – All Levels Welcome”
From 114.93 C$ /h
Hi, I’m Grandmaster and FIDE Trainer Nikola
I’ve been playing chess since early childhood and teaching professionally for almost ten years. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of students — from the current European Champion, who is also one of the Top 100 Grandmasters in the world, and some of the most talented US prodigies, to complete beginners who simply want to enjoy chess and improve. What I enjoy most is helping each student grow at their own pace.
I teach online using Zoom and the Lichess Study option, which makes the lessons very interactive — we can go through games together, practice ideas, and analyze positions in real time.
What we work on depends on you, but usually includes:
Openings – building a repertoire you feel comfortable with.
Strategy & Positional Play – learning how to place your pieces and make strong plans.
Calculation & Tactics – becoming sharper and more confident in complex positions.
Endgames – mastering the techniques that often decide the result.
I like to keep lessons clear, practical, and enjoyable. My goal is to help you understand chess more deeply and play with greater confidence — step by step, at your own pace.
All ages and levels are welcome, and I’ll be glad to share this journey with you.

About Me
My name is Nikola Nestorović (1989), and I am a Chess Grandmaster and FIDE Certified Coach from Belgrade, Serbia. I have been playing chess for over 20 years and teaching it professionally for almost a decade.
I became a Grandmaster in 2016 and a FIDE Trainer in 2018, reaching a peak rating of 2517. Along the way, I achieved many of my personal chess goals — including outstanding tournament performances such as my second GM norm in Sarajevo, where I achieved a performance of 2770 after just six rounds. One of my proudest moments as a player was finishing second place in the 2019 Serbian Championship.
As much as I enjoyed competing, I realized that my real passion is teaching chess. Over the years, I have worked with students of all levels — from enthusiastic beginners to titled players. My coaching highlights include working with the current European Champion and Top 100 Grandmaster, GM Aleksandar Indjić (whom I coached during his 2023 Serbian Championship victory), as well as some of the most talented young prodigies from the United States, like IM Josiah Stearman.
I enjoy making lessons clear, interactive, and adapted to the needs of each student. Whether you want to build a solid foundation, prepare for tournaments, or simply enjoy chess more, I will adjust my program to fit your goals. Recently, I also became a Chessable course author, with my debut course “To Trade or Not to Trade”, and I continue to create training material for players worldwide.
Chess has given me incredible experiences — from competing in the German Bundesliga to coaching champions — and now I want to share that knowledge with you.
If you’re ready to take your chess to the next level, I’ll be glad to help you on your journey.
May the chess force be with you!
