Some are discovering chess, others wish to take their game to the next level, gain Elo points or prepare for a competition.

My work begins with an essential step: understanding your game.

I analyze your thought processes, how you select potential moves, calculate, manage your time, and make decisions. I also identify your strengths, weaknesses, and the goals you wish to achieve.

◆ Why are some players stagnating?

Resources for improvement have never been so plentiful: videos, gaming platforms, tactical exercises, databases, analysis engines...

However, having access to more information does not always mean making better progress.

Watching videos can be instructive, but it often remains a passive activity: understanding an explanation is very different from being able to find the right idea yourself in front of the chessboard.

Many players prefer fast paces, whereas taking more time to think during games is often essential for improvement.

After the game, they check their accuracy rate, browse the variants offered by the engine and identify their mistakes... without always understanding why they made them.

An engine can tell you the best move, but it doesn't teach you how to find it yourself.

That's the whole difference between knowing the answer and learning how to think.

To make lasting progress, you need to go beyond simply acknowledging the mistake: understand why it happened and what needs to change in your way of thinking.

This is precisely where the personalized support of a coach becomes truly meaningful.

Improve your chess through a structured training programme built around your own games, goals and recurring mistakes.

I work with ambitious juniors and adult players from beginner level to approximately 1900 online. Lessons can cover game analysis, calculation, candidate-move selection, tactical awareness, positional understanding, practical endgames, opening structures, time management and tournament preparation.

Each lesson combines clear explanations with practical exercises. After the lesson, you receive annotated study material, targeted homework and a specific training objective for the following week.

For junior students, I can also provide parents with regular written progress updates. Before the first lesson, please send me your current rating and two recent games so that I can prepare an individual assessment.
