I have recently graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a BMus (Hons) Community Music degree. This means that I have attained a high level of performance on the concert flute but also have experience of teaching and educating music in both formal and informal settings.
My lessons are for those who want to start learning flute from the beginning to those who want to continue to improve their skills on the flute. I will take you through technique, expression and also begin to familiarise you with basic theory if you are new to it. All are welcome to join these classes.

About Me
I feel that the best approach to teaching is to make sure my students build a really strong foundation from which they can continue to grow their skills and knowledge of the flute. I have learned and taught both ways, and I have found the most effective method is to really get to grips with basic techniques first by engaging my students with music that they like and want to learn. I also like my students to take the initiative with their own learning, so if they find a particular piece of music or work that they really want to focus on, I will encourage them to do so and support them. Because I am only recently graduating, I think I can provide my students with an understanding of the challenges and benefits of working hard and learning the flute.
