Film scoring/ Classical Composition/ Music Theory class by award winning teacher
From 63.19 C$ /h
Looking into becoming film music, classical music composer? Or just trying to write some music? I am a film and classical music composer currently studying at University. My recent film score for the animated short film K.I.T was nominated for best original score at the Independent Shorts Awards and I was commissioned by the ISSIA HK (NGO) and Hong Kong Youth Arch Association (NGO) to compose for their promotional video. I have also composed scores for Dubai Youth Film Festival and Across Asia Youth Film Festival winning director.
As a classical musician and also a film composer, I understand the best from both sides which not many people do. I will be able to teach you through a very systematic and practical syllabus which you will be able to apply that knowledge into your own work straight away. Most importantly I will teach you how to compose, why we compose, inspirations but not just writing notes and chords

About Me
Jonathan is a Film and Classical Composer, Pianist. He is classically trained from an early age and with his avid love of film, he began to work with film music in 2017. Following that, he decided to pursue a path to becoming a world-class film scorer and musician.
Jonathan has recently been nominated Best Original Score for the animated short film K.I.T at the Independent Shorts Awards and has worked closely with Across Asia Youth Film Festival and Dubai Youth Film Competition winning director Ewan Windebank on several Short films. He has also written scores for Hong Kong Youth Arch Foundation's promotional video and NGO ISSIA.HK. He was also commissioned by Creative Secondary School to compose themes for both MYP F4 and F6 graduation ceremonies.
As a classically trained musician, he has a very solid understanding of musical styles, forms, and musical theory. This allows him to work with a variety of musical forms ranging from Solo, Duets, Ensembles to Orchestral music, and even bringing Electronic synthesizers and instruments into his work. The training also gave him the ability to work with complex harmonies, orchestration, instrumentation, and combining them all together to create his compositions.
Jonathan has always been on a perpetual path of exploring the world of Philosophy, Cinematic Arts, History etc. His passion for the above realms allows him to comprehend cinema as an art and analyze it. This certainly helps Jonathan tremendously in the process of composing for a wide variety of themes and expressing a comprehensive range of emotions.
Jonathan is also a capable and versatile pianist. As a regular performer, he has worked with musical styles ranging from Classical Piano to Rock, Musicals to Pop. After months of intense practice, he also obtained the honor to participate in the final stage of the prestigious Liszt International Piano Competition held in Budapest, Hungary and also winning the 1st runner-up at the Hong Kong Online Music Competition 2020. He is also exploring the Chinese Traditional Instrument Erhu and striving to become an Erhu virtuoso in the future.
Outside music, Jonathan is also a dedicated martial artist, footballer, and athlete specializing in Nutrition.
